Alex Lee, known as “Alex from Target,” said in an interview published April 26, 2024, that he was living in Sherman, Texas, and loading trucks at UPS in the mornings. That is the latest reliable update available here—not a verified account of where he is or what he looks like in 2026.
What Alex from Target said he was doing in 2024
In an interview with PEOPLE published April 26, 2024, Lee said he was living in Sherman, Texas, and working mornings loading trucks at UPS. He described the job as less stressful than social media, saying: “Right now I have a job at UPS, I load the trucks in the morning, and I have to say it’s so much better than doing social media.” The phrase “right now” refers to the time of that interview.
What happened to Alex from Target?
Lee was 16 and working at a Target in Frisco, Texas, when a photograph of him at work spread online in November 2014. He said he did not know the photograph was being taken. The sudden attention brought a flood of messages and followers, an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and intense interest from news organizations and the public.
Lee told PEOPLE that the attention disrupted his ordinary life. News organizations waited outside his school, and he said people began treating him differently; he left the school and began homeschooling. He later tried social-media work, brand deals, and YouTube videos, but said he disliked that work and wanted to leave the spotlight. “I never wanted to be ‘Alex from Target,’ absolutely not,” he told the magazine.

How quickly did the 2014 attention grow?
PEOPLE’s 2024 account said Lee went from 15 Twitter followers to 650,000 in a week and had 2 million Instagram followers during the viral surge. Those figures describe the reported growth after the 2014 photograph, not his current follower counts.
Does this establish what he looks like now?
No. The interview provides a 2024 account of Lee’s work and residence, but it does not establish his appearance or provide a verified current image. It also does not confirm his whereabouts, employment, relationship, or online activity in October 2026. The most accurate description is therefore time-bounded: in April 2024, Lee said he was living in Sherman and working at UPS.
