That is a rumor attributed to Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, not a confirmed Marvel casting announcement. Keen later said she had not been involved in return discussions and did not know whether they had taken place.
What the X-23 return rumor claims
On August 21, 2024, CBR reported that Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus claimed X-23 would “be back for the Avengers films.” CBR interpreted that as a reference to Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The report did not establish a confirmed appearance or give a specific scene, role, or release date for Keen’s character. CBR’s August 2024 report
What Dafne Keen has said
In a November 2024 interview with TheWrap, Keen said she had not been involved in conversations about an MCU return: “Genuinely, I’m not lying. No, I have not been involved in any conversations.” She added, “Hopefully there have been conversations! I have no idea.” Her comments describe what she knew at the time; they neither confirm nor rule out Marvel discussions she was not part of. TheWrap interview, November 15, 2024
In comments reported by ComicBook.com on February 4, 2025, Keen said she would like to see Laura in a team-up and was also interested in smaller, grittier stories for the character. She described an Avengers team-up as appealing, but expressing interest is not evidence of a booking. ComicBook.com report, February 4, 2025

Rumor, actor comment, and confirmation are different things
- Insider claim: Alex Perez’s reported claim is the basis for the rumored Avengers return.
- Keen’s public comments: She said she had not been involved in return conversations and later expressed interest in future X-23 stories.
- Official confirmation: The cited reports do not establish that Marvel has officially announced Keen’s casting in either film.
Accordingly, the most accurate answer to “When will Dafne Keen’s X-23 return?” is: the rumor points to the Avengers films, but there is no confirmed return date or appearance established by these reports. The 2024 article’s release-date discussion is historical, not a verified current schedule; Marvel’s film listings are the appropriate place to check for official schedule updates.
Why another appearance is possible in the story
Keen reprised her Logan role as Laura/X-23 in Deadpool & Wolverine. TheWrap described the film’s ending as leaving Laura and Logan with Wade at his birthday. That gives the character a narrative opening for another appearance, but a story setup does not confirm casting in a future movie. TheWrap on the film’s ending
