STARZ lists The Housemaid in its official US catalog, with Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, and Brandon Sklenar in the cast. An Associated Press streaming guide from March 2026 also reports the film’s STARZ debut, which lines up with the official listing. If you already subscribe to STARZ, the film is included in that subscription. If you do not, you will need to sign up for STARZ to watch it there.
Prime Video: rent or buy
Amazon’s US Prime Video guide says customers can rent or buy the film, and the film’s own Prime Video title page labels it available to rent or buy. Amazon’s guide sets the rental terms: once you start a rental, you have 30 days to begin watching, and after playback starts you have 48 hours to finish. Prime Video also lists Blu-ray as a format for the film, which is the only physical edition named in the listings reviewed for this article.

Theatrical release date
Before the streaming release, The Housemaid played in theaters. Lionsgate’s official trailer description gives the theatrical release date as December 19, 2025. The streaming window opened after that run, and the STARZ and Prime Video listings above are the current US options.

The source material
The film is adapted from Freida McFadden’s novel of the same name, which Amazon identifies as the source. It is a scripted thriller rather than a documentary, so it sits outside this site’s usual documentary catalog. Reading the novel is a separate choice from watching the film.
