When the film opened and when tickets were available
Fandango lists the U.S. release as Friday, December 20, 2024, and Paramount Global Content gives the same date as the premiere. Fandango’s December 2024 movie guide already linked to tickets when it was published, which shows that sales were open by that point. The guide does not say when sales began, so a specific first-sale day cannot be stated from it.

Why there is no single sale date
Release dates differ by territory
The December 20 date is the U.S. release. Paramount’s Brazilian title page lists December 25, 2024, which shows that opening dates can vary by country. Do not assume the U.S. date applies elsewhere.

Advance sales and general sale are set by each exhibitor
Individual theater chains decide when they open advance sales and showtimes in their own locations. A first-sale date reported for one chain should not be treated as the date for another chain, or for the same city a different year.

Checking for a screening today
Because the film’s opening was in December 2024, any ticket page you find now should be treated as a new listing, not as proof of the original sale schedule. To check local availability:
- Open the film’s Fandango page at Sonic the Hedgehog 3 showtimes, then enter your city or ZIP code. The page includes a local ticket-notification feature you can use for future alerts.
- Check the website or app of the theater chain nearest you. Its listings are the only reliable record of its schedule.
- If you are outside the United States, check your local theater or distributor, since release dates vary by territory.
Where to watch the film at home
Paramount announced that the film would arrive on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada starting February 18, 2025, in an announcement dated February 17, 2025. That is a historical announcement. Confirm the film is still in the catalog in your region before subscribing, because streaming availability changes over time.
