What is Expats about?
Set mainly in Hong Kong, Expats follows three American women whose lives become connected after a devastating family event. Margaret, played by Kidman, is struggling with grief; Hilary, played by Blue, is dealing with the collapse of her marriage and personal life; and Mercy, played by Yoo, is a young Korean American woman trying to find stability in an unfamiliar environment.
The story moves between the women’s perspectives rather than treating the central tragedy as a simple mystery. Its six-episode structure gives the series room to examine privilege, displacement, marriage, motherhood, class, and the emotional distance between expatriates and the city around them.
Is there an Episode 7?
No. The first season ends with Episode 6. Because Expats was presented as a limited series, there is no seventh episode in the released season. A possible second season would require a separate renewal and announcement; the six-episode run itself is complete.
