Update: The original search wording asked when Volume 1 was coming out “tonight,” referring to the U.S. release night of November 26, 2025. That release has passed, and the full Season 5 release schedule has now concluded.

Netflix announced the release as 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time / 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time; the other U.S. times are conversions of that announcement. Netflix’s official weekly release listing also placed Volume 1 on November 26 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Netflix Tudum’s announcement contains the original schedule.
Did Volume 1 come out at midnight?
No. This was a special release time for Stranger Things, not a midnight-Pacific launch.
Netflix says that its original series and films are typically released globally at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time. However, the company also notes that titles with special launch times are identified in Netflix’s Coming Soon section or on the title’s details page. For Season 5, Netflix specifically scheduled the release for 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

What time did it release outside the United States?
The release happened simultaneously worldwide, but the local clock and calendar date differed. Viewers across the Americas generally received Volume 1 on November 26, while viewers in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania saw it after midnight on November 27.

Netflix’s official regional schedule lists the Americas date as November 26 and the Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania date as November 27.
How many episodes were in Volume 1?
Volume 1 contained four episodes:
- “The Crawl”
- “The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler”
- “The Turnbow Trap”
- “Sorcerer”
These were Episodes 1 through 4 of Season 5. Netflix’s earlier promotional materials initially withheld the full title of Episode 2, displaying it as “The Vanishing of …” before later identifying it as “The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler.” Netflix’s Season 5 episode guide provides the official title list.

Was Volume 1 the entire final season?
No. Season 5 had eight episodes released in three installments: Volume 1, Volume 2, and The Finale.
The “volume” terminology matters here. Saying that Stranger Things Season 5 “came out” on November 26 could incorrectly suggest that all eight episodes became available at once. Only Episodes 1–4 were included in Volume 1.

Availability can vary by territory, account, profile, maturity setting, and licensing status. If you are checking the title after the scheduled release, the episodes should be available in supported regions, but a missing title does not necessarily mean Netflix delayed the release.
What to do if the episodes are missing from Netflix
If Volume 1—or a later installment—does not appear in the Netflix app, work through these checks:
- Confirm the local time and date. In the United States, the relevant times were 5:00 p.m. Pacific, 6:00 p.m. Mountain, 7:00 p.m. Central, and 8:00 p.m. Eastern. In much of the rest of the world, the local date was November 27 rather than November 26.
- Search directly for Stranger Things. Do not rely only on the home-page banner or a “New Releases” row.
- Refresh Netflix. Reload the browser, force-close and reopen the mobile or TV app, or return to the title page.
- Restart the device. A full restart can force the Netflix app to reload its catalog.
- Sign out and back in if necessary. This is a stronger refresh when simply reopening the app does not update the catalog.
- Disable a VPN or proxy. Netflix may show a different catalog when it detects that your connection appears to come from another region.
- Check the profile. A maturity restriction, language setting, or profile-specific limitation can prevent a title from appearing even when it is available on the account.
- Check regional availability and licensing. Netflix’s title-availability guidance explains why a show may not be searchable in a particular country or profile.
- Contact Netflix support. If the title should be available in your region and still does not appear after refreshing and restarting, use Netflix Help or customer service.
