What Deezer announced for U.S. listeners in 2016
On October 18, 2016, Deezer said consumers in the United States could access its music service directly through the iOS App Store, Google Play, Windows Store, or Deezer.com. It also noted existing availability through Cricket Wireless and for Sonos and Bose subscribers. Deezer’s announcement framed the change as an expansion of its international offering.

The company described access on smartphones, tablets, computers, home sound systems, and smartwatches. Those are broad categories named at the time, not a guarantee that every device model or integration remains supported today.
What the service offered at launch
Deezer highlighted Flow, a personalized mix intended to combine familiar music with new discoveries. The company said recommendations drew on algorithms, music experts, and contextual information. It also described genre and mood channels, participating internet radio stations, song identification on select stations, lyrics, and personalized notifications. Deezer’s CEO, Dr. Hans-Holger Albrecht, said the U.S. launch would bring a more personalized experience to music fans.

The announcement presented its catalog as more than 40 million songs, alongside more than 40,000 news articles and podcasts. These were Deezer’s company-published figures in 2016, not current catalog counts or independent measurements. The company also said its personalization combined data analysis with knowledge from 50 music editors.
What Deezer costs now—and what old trial offers mean
The 2016 launch announcement offered a 30-day Premium+ trial followed by a stated price of $9.99 per month. Deezer later described different U.S. trial terms in 2018: a 15-day Premium discovery trial, extendable by 30 days with a payment method. Neither announcement establishes today’s U.S. price or offer. The 2018 announcement also gave a catalog figure of 53 million tracks and described six profiles on its Family plan; these, too, are historical company claims.

Deezer’s current U.S. App Store listing shows Premium, Duo, Family, Student, and Free plan types, while warning that some plans and features may not be available in every country. Check the current listing or Deezer’s own signup flow for U.S. eligibility, price, and trial terms rather than relying on past launch offers.
How to check current features and device support
The current U.S. App Store listing describes Flow, curated playlists, Shaker, Music Quiz, SongCatcher, lyrics, offline mode, unlimited skips, on-demand listening, and HiFi audio. It also lists podcasts and audiobooks where available. These are listing claims, with availability subject to country and plan.

Deezer’s 2018 announcement listed integrations and device categories including Roku, Xbox, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung systems, Alexa, Sonos, Bose, Bang & Olufsen, Yamaha, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Treat that as a historical list, not a current compatibility matrix. Before subscribing, confirm that the Deezer app or integration is available for the specific phone, car, speaker, TV, or audio system you plan to use.
In March 2026, Deezer announced a renewal of its Sonos partnership. That supports the existence of a continuing business relationship, but does not by itself establish support for every Sonos product or feature. In the same release, Deezer described its platform as available in more than 180 countries and its workforce as around 550 employees; those are company-published figures, not independent counts.
