The Fantastic Four: First Steps opened in U.S. theaters on July 25, 2025. The team’s next confirmed announced appearance is in Avengers: Doomsday, which Disney currently lists for December 18, 2026. That confirms when audiences can next expect the Fantastic Four cast—not which Marvel movie is next by theatrical release date. The official schedule evidence cited here does not establish whether another Marvel film opens before Doomsday.
What is the next Marvel movie after The Fantastic Four: First Steps?
The exact next Marvel theatrical release after The Fantastic Four: First Steps is not established by the official schedule information cited here. Disney lists Avengers: Doomsday for December 18, 2026, but that date alone does not prove it is the next Marvel movie to reach theaters.

That distinction matters: a film can be the next confirmed appearance of the Fantastic Four without being the next Marvel film released. Marvel’s earlier schedule announcement is historical, not a reliable statement of the current release order.
When did The Fantastic Four: First Steps open?
Marvel lists The Fantastic Four: First Steps for U.S. theatrical release on July 25, 2025. The film introduces Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing in a 1960s-inspired world. See Marvel’s official film page.

When will the Fantastic Four return?
Marvel reported that Kevin Feige said Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach would return in Avengers: Doomsday. Disney’s film page lists all four in the cast and gives the movie a December 18, 2026 release date. Marvel’s cast announcement and Disney’s official Avengers: Doomsday page confirm the announced appearance and date.
Disney’s listed date is for the U.S. theatrical schedule and may change. It identifies the next confirmed Fantastic Four cast appearance in the official information cited here; it does not establish the full order of Marvel theatrical releases between the two films.

| Film | Official date | What the date confirms |
|---|---|---|
| The Fantastic Four: First Steps | July 25, 2025 | Marvel’s listed U.S. theatrical release date for the film. |
| Avengers: Doomsday | December 18, 2026 | Disney’s listed U.S. theatrical date; the Fantastic Four cast is announced for the film. |
The dates frame the team’s next confirmed appearance, but they do not answer which Marvel movie is next after First Steps by release chronology. For that answer, a current, complete official theatrical slate would be needed.
