Apple TV+: Foundation Season 3
Friday, July 11 | 10 episodes
Apple’s science-fiction drama returns with the Foundation and the Cleonic Dynasty facing a rising threat from the Mule, following the events of Season 2. It’s the week’s major prestige-sci-fi launch and the clearest reason for genre fans to put Apple TV+ on their watchlist.

The season is a series premiere rather than a single new episode, though the supplied Canadian schedule does not specify whether all 10 episodes were available at launch or released on a weekly cadence. Apple TV+ requires a subscription. Its Canadian service page describes access to Apple Originals; third-party subscriptions and rental or purchase titles are separate. Do not use the service’s current price as a guide to what it cost during this 2025 release week.
Crave: two films, two very different moods
The Last Showgirl
Friday, July 11 | Drama | About 1 hour, 29 minutes
Pamela Anderson stars as a Las Vegas showgirl confronting an uncertain future after learning that her revue is closing. For viewers after a character-focused drama rather than a genre ride, this is Crave’s more serious pick of the week. Anderson’s Canadian connection adds local interest: she is from Ladysmith, British Columbia.

Netflix: a band-building contest and a live WWE event
Building the Band
Wednesday, July 9 | Four episodes at launch
In this music competition, singers audition without seeing one another before meeting and forming a band. Nicole Scherzinger is a mentor and judge; Kelly Rowland and Liam Payne are among the guest judges. Netflix planned a staggered release: four episodes on July 9, three more on July 16, and the final three on July 23. It is a gradual watch rather than a full-season drop.

WWE Evolution 2025
Sunday, July 13 | Live at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT
The all-women’s WWE event streams live on Netflix in Canada, with performers including Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus. Set aside more than a short episode’s worth of time: live-event runtimes can vary. This is a scheduled live stream, not an ordinary on-demand catalogue addition, so confirm the event listing in Netflix near showtime.
Both releases require Netflix access, but the supplied material does not establish current Canadian plan prices. Check Netflix Canada for current subscription details rather than relying on old prices from a 2025 guide.

This documentary looks back at the first 25 years of Montreal pop-punk band Simple Plan, using archival material and access to the group’s 2024 tour. It is the week’s most direct Canadian-interest choice, especially for fans of the band, pop-punk or Canadian music history.
Ballard
Wednesday, July 9 | 10 episodes
Maggie Q leads this police procedural as Detective Renée Ballard, who runs an underfunded LAPD cold-case division and uncovers a dangerous conspiracy. The series is part of the Bosch television universe, with Titus Welliver returning as Bosch. It’s Prime Video’s major scripted debut of the week for crime-drama viewers; expect cold-case investigations and institutional corruption.
Prime Video’s storefront can combine titles included with a Prime membership with rentals, purchases and add-on-channel offerings. Don’t assume either release is included just because it appears in the app: check the individual title page for its access badge before watching or subscribing. The Amazon Canada Prime Video storefront is the place to confirm availability; current membership pricing is not established here.
What to prioritize
- For science-fiction scale: Foundation Season 3 is the week’s headline return.
- For crime drama: Try Ballard, a 10-episode entry in the Bosch universe.
- For comedy: It’s Always Sunny is a weekly commitment, beginning with two episodes.
- For a music binge: Building the Band starts with four episodes, then releases in batches.
- For Canadian music interest: Choose the Simple Plan documentary, centred on a band formed in Montreal.
- For a movie night: Pick The Last Showgirl for drama or Heart Eyes for a horror-comedy blend.
- For live spectacle: WWE Evolution starts Sunday at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
