For the U.S. streaming week of Sept. 22–28, 2025—with emphasis on arrivals by Friday, Sept. 26—television is stronger than film. The week’s leading draws are Slow Horses season 5, Marvel Zombies and Alice in Borderland season 3; the notable movie premieres include All of You, Novocaine and Ruth & Boaz. Availability and release cadence can vary by service and time zone.
The five best things to stream this week
-
Slow Horses season 5 — Apple TV+
Available during the week by Sept. 26, this returning espionage drama brings back Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb. Slough House is compromised after a systems breach links thousands of potential targets. It is the week’s strongest pick for prestige-TV viewers, although the supplied listings do not establish whether the season is a full drop or a weekly rollout. TechRadar’s weekly guide provides the premise and date context.
Prior knowledge: Start with earlier seasons for the character and agency history.
-
Marvel Zombies — Disney+
Premiering Sept. 24, this is a four-episode animated binge that extends the zombie reality introduced in What If…? Its violent, adult positioning makes it horror for mature Marvel viewers, not general family programming. TVLine confirms the four-episode format; TechRadar describes its adult tone.

Complete release calendar
This calendar separates headline premieres from next-day network availability. A monthly September list is broader and includes titles that arrived earlier; Rotten Tomatoes’ September guide is therefore not a week-specific substitute.

Hotel Costiera stars Jesse Williams as a former U.S. Marine working as a fixer at a luxury hotel on the Italian coast. TVLine identifies its six-episode binge. Ruth & Boaz, also dated Sept. 26 on Netflix, is a contemporary faith-based romance about a singer and a winemaker.
What to watch by mood
- Prestige espionage: Slow Horses.
- Superhero horror: Marvel Zombies; its adult violence makes it unsuitable for young children.
- International survival thriller: Alice in Borderland.
- Romantic speculative drama: All of You.
- Action-comedy: Novocaine.
- Light travel adventure: Hotel Costiera.
- Faith-oriented romance: Ruth & Boaz.
- Family viewing: The week’s headline premieres do not offer an unqualified family pick; check ratings and choose from your existing catalog rather than assuming a Marvel label means children’s entertainment.
Which service is worth activating?
| If you want… | Best fit | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Slow Horses and All of You | Apple TV+ | The strongest two-title combination this week, but a relatively focused catalog if these are your only interests. |
| Marvel Zombies | Disney+ | Best for Marvel, Disney, Pixar or Star Wars households; the featured series is adult-oriented. |
| Alice in Borderland and Ruth & Boaz | Netflix | Two substantial releases, provided you are willing to continue Alice in Borderland from earlier seasons. |
| Hotel Costiera | Prime Video | Most compelling if you already use Prime’s other benefits rather than subscribing for one series. |
| Novocaine | Paramount+ | Worth considering for Paramount films, CBS or other ongoing programming as well as this movie. |
Do not activate every service for one weekend. A one-month strategy is more rational: choose Apple TV+ for the two-title pairing, Netflix for its two major releases, Disney+ for Marvel, Paramount+ for the action movie or Prime Video if you already have Prime. Subscription prices change, so verify current U.S. rates directly with each service before paying.
