Netflix’s May 2021 US schedule included films, series, documentaries, reality programming and comedy specials—not 65 verified feature films. The calendar below reflects What’s on Netflix’s version updated May 22, 2021, so it is a historical schedule, not a guide to what is available on Netflix now.
What the May 2021 Netflix schedule covered
What’s on Netflix described its May calendar as a comprehensive list of titles coming to Netflix USA, combining licensed titles and Netflix Originals. Its entries covered multiple formats, including feature films, television seasons, limited series, documentaries, reality programming and comedy specials. The headline’s “65 movies” wording should not be read as a verified count of 65 feature films; the reviewed sources do not establish that figure.

The calendar was updated on May 22, 2021, making it a retrospective version that could differ from what readers saw before the month began. Netflix’s own January announcement addressed a separate, global 2021 film slate and stated a goal of releasing a new movie every week. That announcement does not establish that every film in the global slate arrived in the United States in May. Netflix wrote: “Netflix will bring you a new movie every week featuring the biggest stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Sandra Bullock, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Meryl Streep, Zendaya, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, Gal Gadot, Dave Bautista, Naomi Watts, Jake Gyllenhaal, John David Washington and Octavia Spencer.” (Netflix, January 12, 2021.)

- Geography: The dated list is presented as a Netflix USA schedule, not a worldwide release calendar.
- Format: Treat “new movies” as loose headline wording; the schedule mixed films with episodic and other programming.
- Availability: A 2021 arrival date does not establish that a title remains in Netflix’s catalog today.
- Different snapshots: Rotten Tomatoes published a preview on April 26, 2021, highlighting films including The Woman in the Window and Army of the Dead and series such as Halston and Jupiter’s Legacy. Its earlier date and distinct coverage mean it is not the same snapshot as the What’s on Netflix calendar updated May 22. (Rotten Tomatoes, April 26, 2021.)
