For the most recent chapter in this story, watch his September 2026 WWE heavyweight championship match against Roman Reigns in Mexico City. Together, these moments show how his in-ring style, presentation and connection with the crowd have shaped his WWE run.
1. Penta’s WWE debut against Chad Gable
WWE’s profile records Penta’s Raw debut on January 13, 2025, and his win over Chad Gable. WWE’s Raw highlights identify the match as his debut.
This is the best place to start if you are new to Penta in WWE. The singles match puts his quick lucha movement and striking against Gable’s technical approach, while the entrance and crowd response establish the character before the action gets underway. The appeal is the contrast: Penta’s explosiveness has to contend with an opponent who can slow the pace and make the contest more methodical.
2. The Intercontinental Championship win over Dominik Mysterio
WWE describes Penta’s victory over Dominik Mysterio as his first WWE championship. It is the natural next watch after the debut: instead of introducing Penta to a new audience, this match gives his singles run a concrete title milestone.

- OVER 20 POINTS OF ARTICULATION: Create realistic one, two, and three counts, officiate every pinfall, check submissions, call rope breaks, raise champions, and recreate unforgettable wrestling moments.
- 11 INTERCHANGEABLE HANDS INCLUDED: Swap between 11 hand poses for counting pinfalls, pointing, signaling rope breaks, checking submissions, and realistic match officiating.

- DURABLE CONSTRUCTION: Made with high-quality materials, this figure is built to withstand intense matches and countless hours of play.
Pay attention to how the championship changes the stakes. The debut is about establishing who Penta is in WWE; a title win makes the question whether he can turn that identity into a lasting place among the company’s singles champions. WWE’s profile is the source for this milestone.
3. WrestleMania 42: the Intercontinental Championship ladder match
At WrestleMania 42, Penta retained the Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match against Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Rusev and Rey Mysterio, according to WWE’s profile.

- WWE action figures bring fan-favorite Superstars to life in 6-inch scale!
- Each figure is detailed with TrueFX technology for a life-like face and added collectability!
- Fans can recreate signature moves with 14 points of articulation for dynamic posing!
- Reenact favorite WWE Main Event matches or create new rivalries and moves for play and display!
- WWE fans can find their favorite Superstar figure or can collect them all (each sold separately, subject to availability).
This is the most distinct change of format among the four selections. The Gable debut and Mysterio title win are singles matches; a ladder match brings six competitors and a different kind of risk and opportunity. Watch how Penta’s aerial movement and striking work in a crowded contest, and how the title defense builds on the championship story rather than serving as an introduction to it.
4. Mexico City: Penta challenges Roman Reigns
On September 14, 2026, Penta challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE heavyweight championship in Mexico City and lost. In an interview published September 21, the San Antonio Express-News reported that Penta called the night one of the biggest of his life, citing his country, people and family, and said he wanted a rematch. EL PAÍS described an enthusiastic crowd and reported attendance of more than 22,000. That is the outlet’s reported event figure, not an independently audited attendance count.

The result matters: this was a championship challenge, not a title win. Its value as a watch is the scale of the moment and Penta’s connection with the crowd. In the Express-News interview, he described his entrance as a personal expression of his culture. He said the headdress is a penacho, and explained that the outfit and entrance represented his culture and people. He also said of the night, “Mexico City last week was one of the biggest nights of my life, definitely, because for everything in my country, my people, my family there.” His comments are from the published interview, not a transcript of what he said live in the arena.
