The books behind the series
The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on Jenny Han’s young-adult book trilogy. Readers who want the literary source connected to the adaptation can read We’ll Always Have Summer, the trilogy’s third novel. The television series does not necessarily reproduce every plot point from the books, so the novel is best approached as source-material context rather than a scene-by-scene substitute for Season 3.
The complete trilogy offers additional background on Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah and is a useful companion for viewers interested in comparing Han’s original story with the Prime Video adaptation.
