1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsBefore the Survivor 46 finale aired on CBS on May 22, 2024, Liz Wilcox, Ben Katzman, Kenzie Petty, Charlie Davis, and Maria Shrime Gonzalez spoke about the moves, relationships, and hard moments that shaped their games. The conversation was published while two possible eliminations still stood between the five contestants and the final three, so their comments reflect the uncertainty of the game at that point—not knowledge of how the season would end.
Five contestants, with two eliminations still ahead
In an interview by Dalton Ross for Entertainment Weekly, republished by Yahoo News Malaysia, all five remaining contestants discussed their experiences before the finale. The timing matters: when they spoke, the final three had not been decided, and each still faced the prospect of being eliminated before reaching it. Their comments offer a snapshot of how they viewed the game and one another before the season’s conclusion.

The conversation moves between gameplay and personal recollections. Rather than presenting one definitive account of who played best, it shows how the contestants weighed strategic choices alongside trust, friendship, and the emotional strain of living through the game.
How they described the people and relationships in the game
Kenzie valued conversations beyond strategy
Kenzie Petty recalled conversations with several castmates, including Q about going home and starting families, as well as time spent with Tiffany and friendships across the tribe. She said, “The best moments are the non-game moments, where you really get to know someone.” Her answer highlights relationships as part of her experience, not just as a means of advancing in the competition.

Maria’s view of the threats she faced
Maria Shrime Gonzalez named Tevin as someone she felt she could not beat, while also praising Tiffany as a well-rounded player. Kenzie’s assessment of Tiffany emphasized strength across physical, social, and strategic dimensions. Those were the contestants’ individual judgments at the time, not a shared ranking or an objective verdict on the season’s players.

Maria’s first individual immunity win
Maria described her first individual immunity win as a return to a sense of inner strength, recalling that she had watched past players receive the necklace before experiencing the moment herself. “Winning the first individual immunity was incredible,” she said. Her reflection conveys what the win meant to her personally.
Liz’s difficult off-day
Liz Wilcox recalled becoming self-critical during an off-day when contestants were painting a flag and talking about their lives. She said Kenzie listened and encouraged her. The memory places their relationship in a quieter setting away from a vote or challenge.
Maria’s children’s letters
Maria said she found it devastating that she could not read the letters from her children. She had anticipated sharing that moment with them before leaving for Fiji, which made the experience especially difficult.

Kenzie remembered being cold and soaked during a storm on Yanu. She counted ten seconds at a time and told herself that getting through another day brought her closer to the finale. The recollection captures the physical discomfort and the day-by-day mindset she used to endure it.
What the interview can—and cannot—tell viewers
The interview is most useful as a pre-finale record of how the five contestants described their own decisions, relationships, and challenges while the outcome remained unsettled. Its comments about jury threats are opinions, and the emotional memories are each speaker’s recollections. They should not be read as a consensus about the strongest player or as a retrospective explanation of the finale.
The source is a Yahoo News Malaysia republication of Ross’s Entertainment Weekly interview, dated May 22, 2024. The published finale was still ahead when the conversation appeared. Accordingly, the interview’s forward-looking remarks belong to that moment in the season, not to hindsight after the result.
