Taylor Swift changed a line in “Karma” during her October 20, 2024, Eras Tour concert in Miami to reference Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce was not at the show: he had an away game that day, according to ELLE.
What Taylor Swift sang about Travis Kelce
During “Karma,” Swift sang: “karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me,” ELLE reported. The lyric replaced the song’s usual reference to the “guy on the screen” with a nod to Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
When and where the lyric change happened
Swift made the change on October 20, 2024, the final night of a three-show run at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The Miami Herald reported that the weekend began on October 18 and included three consecutive performances at the stadium: its coverage of the Miami stop.
Was Travis Kelce at the Miami concert?
No. ELLE reported that Kelce had an away game on October 20, so he was not present when Swift sang the changed lyric. The outlet said members of his family attended the October 18 show instead.

Miami’s three-show Eras Tour weekend
The lyric change came during the final concert, not the opening night. The Miami Herald’s October 18 live coverage described rain, a surprise appearance by Florence Welch for “Florida!!!,” and surprise-song performances. Swift called it a “rain show” as the weather moved in, and told the crowd, “The volume you are singing every one of these songs is astonishing.”
The Miami Herald reported Swift saying the October 18 show was sold out and had 61,000 people. That is a figure for the opening-night show as reported by the newspaper, not an attendance total for the entire weekend or a verified stadium capacity.

What was reported—and what was fan speculation
ELLE also noted that Swift wore earrings with a “T” initial at the October 18 concert. Some fans interpreted them as a reference to Kelce, but that interpretation was speculation; the outlet did not report a confirmed explanation from Swift. The earrings were seen on a different night from the “Karma” lyric change.
After the Miami run, Swift praised the crowds’ “bewildering passion,” saying it “really blew my mind,” according to the Miami Herald’s October 24 report. The paper also quoted her describing fans as “mass quantities of joyful people genuinely living in the moment and seeming truly carefree for 3.5 hours…You guys are just the best.”
