Prince Harry briefly began “You’ll Be Back” at a charity performance of Hamilton in London on 29 August 2018. He sang only the opening words, “You say…,” then stopped and joked that Lin-Manuel Miranda had tried to persuade him to continue, but he had declined.

Why was Harry at the performance?
Harry and Meghan attended a gala performance at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre to raise money for Sentebale, the charity Harry co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. The charity supports children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa. Kensington Palace thanked the cast and crew for a performance that raised awareness and funds for Sentebale, in a post reproduced by CBS News.
What was the joke between Harry and Lin-Manuel Miranda?
Before Harry came onstage, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda introduced him with a joke linking the Duke of Sussex to the show’s King George III. Miranda said, “Smash cut to 2018 I’m sitting next to his sixth-great grandson. Ladies and gentlemen, the Duke of Sussex.”

Harry began the song, then turned to Miranda and said, “You did try, but I said no,” according to ITV News. The exchange was a brief onstage joke, not a full musical performance.
