Disney confirmed the new attraction opened on May 26, 2026. It puts the Electric Mayhem at the center of the story, with a new queue and a soundtrack featuring songs by the band and guest performers.
What replaced the Aerosmith coaster?
The replacement is Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, a Muppets-themed version of the attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney announced the change in January 2025, describing a rock music festival concept and saying guests could ride the Aerosmith version until spring 2026. The Muppets version opened May 26, 2026, according to Disney’s opening announcement.
Disney’s December 2025 calendar update had projected a summer 2026 opening; the May date is the confirmed opening date that superseded that earlier window. The original takeover announcement provides the earlier timeline.
What is the Muppets version about?
The Electric Mayhem is preparing for a major concert, but the band is nowhere to be found when guests arrive for their VIP tour. The experience starts at G-Force Records and takes guests on a high-speed trip across Hollywood to reach the show. Disney has not announced ride-system specifications in the cited materials, so the change should be understood as a new theme and story rather than a confirmed replacement of the coaster hardware.
