The “114 new movies and TV shows” figure refers to titles Netflix announced as part of its 2025 and beyond Upfront slate—not 114 releases arriving together. TechRadar reported the slate as 31 movies and 83 shows, including returning series, animation and anime, and planned live programming. Its May 15, 2025 report is a snapshot of announcements; it does not establish which titles are available now or in any particular country.
What the number 114 means
In its May 15, 2025 coverage, TechRadar described Netflix’s Upfront slate as 114 titles: 31 movies and 83 shows. That is the reported size of an announced slate, not a count of titles that premiered at once or a current Netflix catalog total. Read TechRadar’s report.

The figures describe overlapping types of programming rather than a simple list of wholly separate categories. TechRadar reported 12 animation and anime titles alongside the movie count, but the report does not establish that those 12 are additional to the 31 movies. It also said 52 of the 83 shows were returning series.

These are announcement details from the 2025 slate; the report alone does not show whether a project’s title, timing or status later changed.
Live programming was part of the slate
Netflix’s reported slate was not limited to films and series. TechRadar also described five planned live events, including weekly WWE Monday Night RAW, the Netflix Tudum 2025 Live Event hosted by Sofia Carson, Taylor vs Serrano 3, NFL Christmas Gameday in 2025 and 2026, and the 32nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards scheduled for March 1, 2026. Those dates and plans were reported in 2025; past events should not be treated as upcoming, and the article does not establish the current status of each event.

What Netflix said about advertising
The Upfront coverage also addressed Netflix’s ad-supported business. TechRadar reported Netflix’s figure of more than 94 million global monthly users of its ad-supported plan at the time of the May 2025 Upfront. This is a historical figure, not a current audience estimate. Netflix said, “This will create a better, more relevant experience for our members,” in the context of its advertising suite and interactive midroll and pause ad formats. The report said those formats would roll out by 2026 in countries where the ad-supported plan was offered; it does not verify their present availability.

How to check what is available where you live
An announced project is not necessarily released, and Netflix’s catalog can differ by market. To confirm whether a particular title is streamable in your country, search for it in Netflix’s current app or website for your account and region. The May 2025 reporting does not provide a current, territory-specific availability list.
