Maria Georgas said she had nothing to do with Jenn Tran and Devin Strader’s breakup. After Tran discussed Strader’s Instagram follow of Georgas during the September 3, 2024 The Bachelorette finale, Georgas responded in a TikTok video, expressing sympathy for Tran and saying she had never met Strader.
Why Jenn Tran brought up Maria Georgas
During the September 3, 2024 finale and After the Final Rose special, Tran discussed her breakup with Strader and mentioned that he had followed Georgas on Instagram. Tran and Georgas had both appeared on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor. Good Morning America’s recap of the finale provides context for Tran’s televised comments.
What Maria Georgas said
Georgas addressed the discussion in a TikTok video posted September 5, according to ABC News. She said the finale was hard to watch and expressed sympathy for Tran. Georgas said, “I can’t speak on her relationship,” adding that Tran and Strader were the only two people who truly knew what was happening in it. She said she respected Tran speaking up, while cautioning that people discussing the situation without full context could create a different narrative. ABC News reported Georgas’s response on September 6, 2024.
What Georgas said about the Instagram follow
Georgas said Strader had followed her, but she did not notice until other people pointed it out. By the time she learned about it, she said, he had unfollowed her. She also said she had never met Strader and had not followed him back.

On whether the follow had a role in the breakup, Georgas was direct: “I have nothing to do with the ending of the relationship.” She also said she and Tran were no longer friends at the time, while making clear that readers should not take that as evidence she had failed to support Tran.
What the response does—and does not—establish
Georgas’s statement addresses her own knowledge and actions: she said she was unaware of the follow until others told her, had no contact with Strader, and was not involved in the couple’s breakup. It does not establish Strader’s reasons for following or unfollowing her, or provide a full account of what happened within the relationship. Georgas emphasized that Tran and Strader were the people able to speak to those details.
