ViX (often written “VIX” in searches) is TelevisaUnivision’s Spanish-language streaming service. It offers a free, advertising-supported tier called ViX Gratis and paid ViX Premium plans with additional novelas, movies, originals, news, and market-specific sports.
The important catch is that ViX is not identical in every country. Prices, channels, sports rights, device support, and the available catalog vary across the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Latin America.
What does ViX mean?
ViX is the official brand name of TelevisaUnivision’s streaming platform. The lowercase “i” is part of the brand styling, although “VIX streaming service” is a common search spelling.

The paid service was originally launched as ViX+ in 2022. It is now generally presented as ViX Premium. ViX is designed primarily for Spanish-language audiences rather than as a general-purpose replacement for every major streaming service.

Its programming draws on content associated with Univision, Televisa, and other Spanish-language production and distribution operations, including novelas, Latin American series, movies, news, live programming, and sports.
TelevisaUnivision describes ViX as a Spanish-language streaming platform available in the United States, Mexico, and much of Spanish-speaking Latin America.
What is ViX Gratis?
ViX Gratis is the free, ad-supported version of the service. According to ViX, viewers do not need a credit card or other payment method to use it, although an account may be requested for certain features or programs.
The free catalog can include:
- Spanish-language movies and series
- Novelas
- Selected soccer and other sports programming
- 24/7 news
- Free live and channel-style programming
ViX’s help center currently refers to more than 100 free channels, but channel counts and lineups depend on the viewer’s country. “Free” also does not mean that every ViX title is free. Premium originals, premieres, movies, sports events, and other programming may require a subscription.
Free programming can change when licensing agreements expire or regional rights change. ViX Gratis is therefore best viewed as a way to sample the service and watch a rotating selection of Spanish-language content without paying.
What is ViX Premium?
ViX Premium is the paid tier. It generally includes everything available through ViX Gratis, along with:
- ViX original and exclusive series
- Premium movies and programs
- Additional novelas and premieres
- Premium sports, where rights are available
- More on-demand programming than the free tier
- Multiple simultaneous streams, depending on the plan and country
In the United States, ViX says some Univision novela premiere episodes may become available to Premium subscribers the following day, subject to rights restrictions and future changes.

Premium is described as ad-free for much of its Premium on-demand programming, but it is not a guarantee that every minute of every program will contain no advertising. ViX says commercials may still appear in sports, linear channels, free-tier content, and some licensed or third-party programming.

The following prices are the official U.S. pricing signals cited by ViX, plus applicable taxes. They are country-specific and can change by promotion, billing platform, or subscription route.

Older articles may quote the original ViX+ price of $6.99 per month or the 2024 launch price of $4.99 for Premium with ads. Those are historical figures, not reliable current signup prices.
Prices can differ when Apple, Google, Roku, a cable company, or another partner handles billing. The U.S. Apple App Store listing, for example, displays separate in-app purchase prices. Always treat the final checkout screen as the price that applies to your account.

What does ViX cost outside the United States?
There is no single worldwide ViX price. ViX’s official pricing information lists different currencies, promotions, and subscription terms by country. Examples cited in its current help material include:
- Mexico: MXN 149 monthly; annual pricing listed at MXN 1,499 for subscriptions purchased from January 15, 2026.
- Colombia: COP 15,900 monthly for a stated introductory six-month period, followed by the prevailing rate.
- Peru: PEN 18.90 monthly in the cited pricing table.
These are regional or promotional examples, not universal prices. Check the ViX signup page after selecting your country and billing method.

What can you watch on ViX?
Novelas and Spanish-language television
Novelas are one of ViX’s clearest strengths. The service carries classic and current Spanish-language television, with programming associated with Televisa and Univision among its offerings. ViX advertises more than 20,000 hours of novelas; that is a company-provided comparison claim rather than an independently audited catalog measurement.

Movies, series, and originals
ViX includes Spanish-language movies, Latin American productions, series, and ViX originals. Premium adds exclusive programming that is not included in ViX Gratis. The presence of Televisa or Univision branding does not mean that every program from those companies is available on demand.
Sports
Sports rights are particularly dependent on country, event, season, and broadcast window. ViX has promoted soccer coverage involving competitions such as Liga MX, UEFA events, and CONCACAF programming. Its current app listing also advertises sports including NBA, MLB, Formula 1, and boxing.
That does not mean every match, race, game, or fight is available to every ViX subscriber. Blackouts, regional rights, scheduling, and separate broadcast agreements can all apply. Verify the specific event in the ViX listing for your country before subscribing solely for sports.

News and live channels
ViX offers Spanish-language news and live, channel-style programming. However, the live experience differs significantly by market. ViX states that the United States does not have the same Premium live-channel lineup offered in Mexico and some Latin American countries.
Where is ViX available?
ViX is available in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and many Spanish-speaking Latin American markets. The more accurate rule is:

ViX is available across the U.S., Mexico, Puerto Rico, and much of Spanish-speaking Latin America, but its plans, pricing, sports rights, live channels, and catalog vary by country.
Do not assume that a title seen in Mexico will be available in the United States, or that a U.S. Premium subscription includes the same live channels as a Mexican subscription. Regional licensing is also why a sports event may be promoted by ViX but unavailable in a particular location.
Which devices support ViX?
ViX’s support documentation lists the following device families:
- iPhone and Android phones
- iPad, Android tablets, and Fire tablets
- Web browsers on Chrome OS, macOS, and Windows PCs
- Android TV
- Amazon Fire TV
- Roku
- Samsung smart TVs
- LG smart TVs
- Apple TV
- VIDAA smart TVs
- Vizio smart TVs
Support is not identical for every model or country. LG support is listed for the United States, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, while Vizio support is listed for the United States and Puerto Rico. ViX also warns that Samsung’s Tizen operating system is not fully compatible in every respect.
Check ViX’s official device list before subscribing, especially if you use an older smart TV or a partner-authenticated account.

- Watch with advertising.

- Open ViX or its official subscription page.
- Select your country or region if prompted.
- Choose the Premium plan shown as available to you.
- Review the price, taxes, renewal terms, advertising description, and simultaneous-stream limit.
- Create or sign in to your ViX account.
- Enter payment information and complete checkout.
- Install ViX on supported devices and sign in.
ViX describes a seven-day Premium trial for eligible first-time payment cards. Eligibility may depend on prior Premium history, the payment card, country, promotion, and billing platform. A ViX Gratis account is not the same as a Premium trial. If a trial is offered, check when it converts to paid billing and cancel before renewal if you do not want to continue.

How many people can watch at once?
For the cited U.S. direct plans, Premium without ads supports up to four simultaneous devices. The Premium with ads plan supports up to two. These limits should not automatically be applied to every country, legacy account, partner subscription, or third-party billing arrangement.
How to cancel ViX
Cancel through the company that bills you:
- Direct ViX subscription: Use the account or subscription settings provided by ViX.
- Apple, Google, Roku, cable provider, or another partner: Cancel through that provider’s subscription-management system.
Monthly subscribers should cancel before the next renewal date. Annual subscribers can generally cancel future renewal and continue through the end of the current subscription year. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
ViX versus other streaming services
ViX is best compared by use case rather than as a direct equivalent to every streaming platform:

Choose ViX when Spanish-language specialization matters more than having the broadest English-language library. Choose a live-TV service when you need a larger channel package, local stations, or more traditional television access.
Common problems and fixes
A program is missing
First confirm that you are signed into the correct account and country. Then check whether the title is Premium-only, available only during a live window, subject to a sports blackout, or removed because its rights expired. Search the ViX website directly rather than relying only on the app’s home screen. If ViX is actively advertising the program in your region and it still does not appear, contact ViX support.
The price is different from an article or advertisement
Check whether the price is promotional, includes taxes, applies to a legacy plan, or comes from Apple, Google, Roku, or another billing partner. The price shown at your final checkout is the relevant one for your subscription.
You expected live channels or ad-free sports
Live-channel packages are regional, and the U.S. does not have the same Premium live-channel lineup available in some other markets. Also, Premium’s no-ads description has exceptions for sports, linear channels, free-tier content, and certain licensed programming.
Is ViX worth paying for?
ViX Premium is a strong fit if you mainly watch Spanish-language television, novelas, Latin American movies and series, ViX originals, Spanish-language news, or sports carried by ViX in your country. ViX Gratis is a sensible starting point if you want to test the catalog without entering payment details.
ViX may not be the right choice if you primarily want English-language originals, need every game in a sports league, expect a complete cable replacement, require one identical catalog across countries, or object to commercials appearing in some live, sports, or licensed programming.
Before paying, confirm three things on the official ViX page: the catalog in your country, the specific sports or shows you want to watch, and the final price and cancellation route for your billing method.
