Its launch plan named console, PC, and mobile as target platforms and described a goal of backing indie-budget projects below $10 million. The division later announced its first six games in June 2024; Steam listings show several of those titles released by October 7, 2026.
What is Blumhouse Games?
Blumhouse Games is a video-game production and publishing division created by the horror film company Blumhouse. Rather than simply adapt an existing film franchise, the division said it would work with independent developers on original horror-themed games. The launch announcement named Zach Wood as president and Don Sechler as CFO. Bloody Disgusting reported the launch and its strategy on February 21, 2023.
The same report said the division planned to target projects with budgets below $10 million. That figure describes the announced target for indie-budget games; it is not a verified final budget for any individual title.
When did Blumhouse launch its gaming division?
Blumhouse announced the division in February 2023. Its first announced slate followed on June 7, 2024, when Blumhouse Games revealed six independent horror projects. The slate announcement presented the games as original collaborations, not as a promise that all six were already released. Gematsu’s June 7, 2024 report describes the titles and their announced premises.

Is Blumhouse Games making horror games?
Yes. The division’s announced focus is original horror games developed with independent studios. The variety matters: Blumhouse Games launched as a horror-focused publishing and production business, not as a commitment to one gameplay format or film tie-in.
