Spoilers for Paradise Season 2, especially Episode 7 and the finale, “Exodus.” The season strongly suggests that Link is connected to Sinatra’s son Dylan, whom she believed had died. But it leaves the exact nature of that connection unresolved: Link may be Dylan, or a version of him, and the series has not fully explained how.
What is the twist between Sinatra and Link?
Link, played by Thomas Doherty, first appears as the leader of survivors outside the bunker and a threat to its security. His connection to Sinatra changes as the season reveals clues linking him to the son she lost. TVLine’s Episode 7 recap describes the reveal, while its Season 2 questions guide notes that the story does not settle every question about Link’s identity.
The clues pointing to Dylan
- Link is called Dylan.
- His age and birthday match details associated with Sinatra’s son.
- He and Sinatra experience nosebleeds.
Taken together, these details make the mother-son connection the season’s intended emotional reveal. Sinatra accepts Link as her son before she dies, finding peace in that belief.
What remains uncertain
The show’s reported clues establish a strong connection, not a complete explanation of Link’s identity. The coverage leaves open whether he is literally the same Dylan, an alternate-universe version, or the result of another temporal process. TVLine points to temporal interference as a possibility, but neither that nor a full alternate-universe explanation should be treated as confirmed.

What happens to Sinatra in the finale?
In “Exodus,” the bunker’s doors are forced open as its nuclear reactors overheat. Residents evacuate, but Sinatra stays behind to contain the crisis and dies. Her acceptance of Link as Dylan gives their reunion emotional weight, even though the mechanics behind it remain unexplained.
Creator Dan Fogelman told the Los Angeles Times on March 30, 2026: “In my initial pitch, I told people, ‘The second season is going to end with the bunker failing and the collapse of the whole infrastructure.’” The comment describes the planned collapse; it does not explain every detail of the Link-and-Dylan reveal.

What does the finale reveal about Alex?
Alex is an advanced quantum computer built by Link and Professor Henry Miller, not simply a person Link is trying to find. TIME’s finale explainer, published March 30, 2026, connects Alex’s capabilities to the season’s time-manipulation mystery. Link’s search for Alex remains important after Sinatra’s death, but Alex’s role does not provide a definitive explanation of whether Link is Sinatra’s original son or another version of him.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the reveal confirms—and what it doesn’t
- Strongly established by the season: Link is tied to Sinatra’s supposedly dead son Dylan, and Sinatra accepts him as her son.
- Shown as clues: the name Dylan, matching age and birthday details, and shared nosebleeds.
- Left unresolved: the precise identity relationship and the temporal or other process that could account for it.
- Clear in the finale: the bunker collapses amid a nuclear crisis, Sinatra stays behind and dies, and Alex is an advanced quantum computer.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Fogelman intended Season 3 to conclude the series arc. That planned endpoint gives the unresolved identity question room to continue, rather than turning the Season 2 clues into a fully explained mechanism.
