There is no officially confirmed single pair of headphones that Kendall Roy prefers. The strongest identification is for the true-wireless earbuds he wears in Succession Season 4, Episode 2: Digital Trends identified them as likely Master & Dynamic MW08s, possibly the Mercedes-Benz edition. In the Season 2 finale, viewers separately identified his over-ear headphones as Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless. Neither identification is confirmed by the show’s production team.
The Season 4 earbuds: likely Master & Dynamic MW08
In Season 4, Episode 2, Kendall steps outside a Manhattan bar to take a phone call, wearing larger wireless earbuds. Digital Trends identified the design as probably the Master & Dynamic MW08. That is a visual identification, not an official product credit: no confirmation from HBO, the prop department, Master & Dynamic, or the show’s creators is cited.
The MW08 is a premium true-wireless model with ceramic and stainless-steel construction, active noise cancellation, a transparency mode, a wireless-charging case, and a battery-life claim that was comparatively generous for its period. The combination of polished materials and a distinctive, less ubiquitous silhouette makes it a plausible match for the scene. It does not establish that the earbuds sound better than mainstream alternatives. Contemporary coverage also noted that the MW08’s noise cancellation, transparency performance, and call quality lagged Apple’s AirPods Pro in comparison.

Possibly, but the exact version is even less certain than the MW08 identification. Digital Trends raised the possibility of the Mercedes-Benz edition. Mercedes branding elsewhere in the episode—including Logan’s Maybach—is context, not proof that Kendall’s earbuds were a collaboration model or that the scene was paid product placement. Similar finishes can also be difficult to distinguish on screen.

MW08, MW08 Sport, and Mercedes-Benz variants should not be treated as interchangeable. The available identification does not establish which version, finish, or exact model appears in the shot.
The Season 2 treadmill headphones: a separate, less certain identification
In the Season 2 finale, Kendall wears large over-ear headphones while running on a treadmill. Viewers have identified them as the Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless, but that identification comes from fan discussion and visual comparison—not an official prop list or production statement. Treat it as a plausible lead, not a confirmed fact.
This earlier scene matters because it rules out a simple answer in which Kendall uses one established headset throughout the series. It also rules out AirPods Max for that scene: Apple introduced AirPods Max in December 2020, after the Season 2 finale was made.

What the audio gear suggests about Kendall
The likely MW08 fit can be read as a status signal: a design-conscious luxury product is more distinctive than ubiquitous earbuds, and the Mercedes-Benz possibility adds another layer of exclusivity. That is an interpretation, not evidence of what the prop team intended. Succession uses clothes, watches, cars, and other accessories to help distinguish its wealthy characters; reporting on the show’s watches describes how such details contribute to character presentation (GQ).
There is also a useful tension in the image: expensive technology can project control and taste, while Kendall’s emotional life remains far less controlled. The contrast is consistent with the show’s dark humor, but it should not be mistaken for a confirmed character biography.
Music is a separate clue, not a way to identify the hardware. Coverage of composer Nicholas Britell discusses hip-hop and beat-making in connection with Kendall’s musical identity, and the series uses artists such as the Beastie Boys and Jay-Z in its musical world (The Washington Post; WLRN). Those choices do not prove what Kendall listens to privately or which headphones he owns. Nor do Jeremy Strong’s real-life preferences establish what his character uses.

Can you buy Kendall’s likely gear now?
If you want the Season 4 look, the MW08 is the closest identified match—but the model is associated with an earlier product period, and current new-stock availability and price have not been established here. Check Master & Dynamic’s official site before buying. If a third-party listing appears, verify whether it is new old stock, used, or simply marketplace inventory; don’t assume it is current manufacturer stock.
The Amiron Wireless is the closest historical match to the treadmill headphones. Beyerdynamic documentation is available, but a current official U.S. retail price or ready availability is not established by the documentation. It is not worth paying a collector’s premium solely for a resemblance to a television prop.
For a current alternative, choose by the features you actually need rather than by the character association. Compare current models from Apple, Sony, Bose, Master & Dynamic, Sennheiser, or Technics for fit, noise cancellation, call quality, phone compatibility, and local availability. This is not a tested ranking: the MW08 identification says nothing about how those alternatives perform today.

Apple’s U.S. store page lists USB-C AirPods Max at $549 and describes active noise cancellation, Transparency mode, Personalized Spatial Audio, lossless audio over USB-C, and up to 20 hours of listening with ANC enabled (Apple). Price and configurations can change. AirPods Max are a current premium over-ear option, not Kendall’s confirmed headphones—and they postdate the Season 2 scene.
What “preferred audio gear” can—and cannot—mean
The evidence supports a pattern of premium, design-conscious audio gear across two scenes, not a canonically stated favorite brand. Props can change with the episode and scene; lighting, camera angle, and finish can make similar products hard to tell apart. The most defensible answer is therefore episode-specific: likely Master & Dynamic MW08 earbuds in Season 4, Episode 2, and viewer-identified Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless over-ear headphones in the Season 2 finale. Neither is officially confirmed.
