Spoilers for Thunderbolts*. The film has two credits scenes: a mid-credits cereal-box gag starring Red Guardian, followed by a scene 14 months later in which the New Avengers face a dispute over their name and spot an extradimensional ship bearing the Fantastic Four logo.
How many credits scenes does Thunderbolts* have?
There are two: one during the credits and one after the full credits. The first is a brief comic character moment; the later scene advances the story and introduces a space-bound mystery. The Los Angeles Times’ scene breakdown and TIME’s account describe both.

What happens in the mid-credits scene?
In a grocery store, Red Guardian spots a cereal box featuring the New Avengers. He tries to get a shopper to notice it, turning his long-held wish to appear on a cereal box into a small joke. It is a character gag, not the film’s main setup for what comes next.
What happens after the full credits?
The second scene jumps 14 months beyond the main story. The New Avengers are discussing their use of the Avengers name, which Sam Wilson is challenging. Red Guardian offers “New Avengerz” as a possible workaround.

What does the Fantastic Four ship reveal mean?
The scene establishes that a ship associated visually with the Fantastic Four is approaching Earth. It does not explain the ship’s precise origin or purpose, identify its passengers in dialogue, or show the Fantastic Four meeting the New Avengers. Any account of why it has arrived or what the teams will do next is interpretation, not something this scene confirms.

Why was the ending scene notable in production?
Director Jake Schreier said the specifics of the end-credit scene came together late, and that he did not film it, though he was present when it was filmed. He also said the ending moment had been known from early on, while the story leading to it was developed. Those comments describe the production process; they do not confirm a particular future-film plot. ComicBook.com reported Schreier’s remarks on May 1, 2025.
