Seth Rollins filmed material for Captain America: Brave New World, but he said he was not in the finished film. In a January 2025 interview, he attributed the change to rewrites and reshoots, saying his role was “repurposed or completely erased.” The character he was originally meant to play has not been confirmed.
What did Seth Rollins say about his role?
In January 2025, Rollins told interviewer Chris Van Vliet: “It releases in February, I wish it the best, but I am not a part of that film.” He explained: “The script went through a lot of rewrites and reshoots. What I was there to do, essentially my role, either got repurposed or completely erased.” MarvelBlog’s report of the interview provides the clearest account of why he did not appear.

That is Rollins’ explanation, not a separately documented statement from Marvel Studios. His comments establish that he worked on material for the project and believed his role did not make it into the final film; they do not establish what the role was.
Was Seth Rollins cut from the movie?
In practical terms, yes: Rollins said he was not part of the released film. His description leaves open whether the character or material was substantially rewritten for someone else, or removed altogether. The interviews do not settle which occurred.

Rollins had acknowledged involvement earlier while keeping details private. In August 2023, he said, “I am sworn to secrecy. Pretty tight lipped on anything related to this project.” In February 2024, he again declined to identify his role and called the experience a “cool crossover.” Those earlier remarks confirm his participation, but they do not name a character. ComicBook.com’s 2023 coverage and its 2024 interview coverage record those comments.
Was he supposed to be in the Serpent Society?
Some pre-release coverage speculated that Rollins might be connected to the Serpent Society, but he did not confirm that in the cited interviews. No specific Serpent Society member is established as his intended character. Treat the connection as speculation, not a casting fact.
