Jena Frumes has not publicly explained the breakup, and the available reporting does not document a detailed post-split career. What Derulo said
The only statement on the separation in the available sources comes from Derulo. Just Jared reproduced it on September 23, 2021:
“Jena and I have decided to part ways. She is an amazing mother but we feel being apart at this time will allow us to be the best versions of ourselves and be the best parents we could be. Pls respect our privacy in this time.”
The statement gives no reasons for the split beyond that. It also praises Frumes as a mother and asks for privacy, which is the reason later coverage tends to treat the announcement as the official account.

Frumes’s response
E! reported that Frumes shared a message to their son, “I love you bubsyyy,” followed by a promise to give him love. The same report said she had not publicly addressed the split at that point. The message was directed at the child, so it should not be read as a statement about why the relationship ended.
Her public work on record
IMDb lists Frumes as known for She Ball (2020) and The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2 (2021), and it credits her on a 2017 music video. A biographical directory describes her as an Instagram personality and says she created an activewear collection.
These entries show that she has worked in modeling, social media and screen projects. They do not show that any of this work continued after the split, that the activewear line is still sold, or that she has taken on new projects since. A credit listing records a past role, not current employment.
The 2022 allegations
A 2022 Us Weekly report attributed allegations of infidelity to Frumes. These are allegations, not established facts, and no source in the available reporting shows they caused the breakup. The same report covered her comments about privacy during pregnancy and her decision not to show her newborn’s face online. Those remarks are her reported views and do not bear on why the couple separated.
