Public reporting offers only a few firm details. A January 2022 Washington Post profile reported that Lindsay still lived in Middletown, Ohio. That is a dated report, not a verified current address. A Cincinnati Enquirer article republished by Yahoo News and updated January 20, 2025 names her Lindsay Lewis Ratliff and describes her as outside her brother’s public profile.
Those accounts do not establish what she does for work, where she lives today, or details about her relationships or private choices. There is not enough reliable reporting to present a fuller post-film biography as fact.
Why Lindsay appears in Hillbilly Elegy
Netflix describes Hillbilly Elegy as a film based on J.D. Vance’s memoir. Its synopsis centers on J.D.’s return home amid a family crisis and his relationships with his mother and grandmother. Lindsay is part of the family story, but the film is an adaptation of Vance’s memoir—not a current documentary about her life.

How the film and memoir differ in one key sequence
A 2020 comparison by History vs. Hollywood says the film compresses events around Lindsay’s call about their mother’s renewed heroin use and J.D.’s return home. In the memoir’s sequence, J.D. returns weeks after graduation; the film places the return in a heightened sequence around a job interview. This is a comparison of the adaptation and the book, not independent reporting about Lindsay after the film.
What can—and cannot—be concluded
