Sandra Oh plays Eve Polastri, Jodie Comer plays Villanelle, and Fiona Shaw plays Carolyn Martens. In Killing Eve’s fourth and final season, the three women pursue different goals that pull them back into one another’s orbit. The guide below starts with the principal cast, then explains the season-four setup. The second section contains plot details.
Who’s in the cast of Killing Eve?
Netflix’s cast guide identifies these series-wide key characters and performers. It is not a season-four episode-by-episode cast list, and it does not mean every character appears throughout the final season.
| Actor | Character | Role in the series |
|---|---|---|
| Sandra Oh | Eve Polastri | An MI5 analyst who becomes an MI6 operative; her pursuit of Villanelle becomes central to the series. |
| Jodie Comer | Villanelle | An assassin whose fixation on Eve drives the central pursuit. |
| Fiona Shaw | Carolyn Martens | Head of MI6’s Russia Section. |
| Kim Bodnia | Konstantin | Villanelle’s handler. |
| Owen McDonnell | Niko Polastri | Eve’s husband. |
| Sean Delaney | Kenneth “Kenny” Stowton | Carolyn’s son. |
| Darren Boyd | Frank Haleton | Eve’s MI5 supervisor. |
| David Haig | Bill Pargrave | Eve’s MI5 colleague, who transfers to MI6. |
| Kirby Howell-Baptiste | Elena Felton | Eve’s assistant. |
Netflix’s series guide describes Killing Eve as a four-season, 32-episode series that ran from 2018 to 2022. Laura Neal is identified there as the final-season showrunner. The show was created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, with a different lead writer and showrunner for each season.
Season 4 character guide (spoilers)
Spoilers for the final season’s setup and broad story progression follow. Season four begins after Eve and Villanelle’s emotionally charged parting on a bridge in season three. The official synopses establish the characters’ shifting aims and convergence, but they are not a complete cast roll or a resolution of every mystery.

Eve Polastri: revenge and a trail to The Twelve
Eve starts season four on a solo revenge mission. Her pursuit takes her toward Helene and new leads on The Twelve, the secretive organization at the heart of the investigation. As the season advances, she reunites with Villanelle and eventually becomes part of a shared mission with her.
Villanelle: trying to change
Villanelle joins a church community and tries to prove she is not a “monster.” That effort to change sits alongside her enduring connection to Eve; the season’s later episodes bring their paths together again.

Carolyn Martens: investigating Kenny’s death
Carolyn continues pursuing The Twelve and the person who ordered the hit on her son, Kenny, after killing Paul. Her investigation leads her to Cuba, where she confronts her past. Her pursuit gives her a distinct motive from Eve’s revenge mission and Villanelle’s attempt at personal change.
The Twelve: the shared target
The Twelve links the characters’ investigations, but the official season descriptions give orientation rather than a full account of the organization or every answer the series supplies. Paramount+ describes Eve and Villanelle as focusing on a shared mission in “Hello, Losers,” the final episode.

What is Killing Eve based on?
The series is based on Luke Jennings’s four e-novellas, first published between 2014 and 2016 and later compiled as Codename Villanelle. Netflix notes that later television seasons diverge from the books, so the novellas are source material rather than a one-to-one guide to the TV series’ final-season plot.
