Courtney Henggeler played the adult Missy Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, then became widely known for playing Amanda LaRusso on Cobra Kai. In April 2025, she announced that she was stepping away from acting after more than 20 years in the business. She was not replaced as Missy in the original sitcom: Raegan Revord played the character as a child in the prequel Young Sheldon.

Why were there two Missy actresses?
Henggeler played adult Missy in the original sitcom. Raegan Revord played young Missy in the prequel Young Sheldon. They portrayed the same character at different ages; Revord did not take over Henggeler’s role in The Big Bang Theory. The official Big Bang Theory podcast episode about Henggeler’s first appearance and season 11 return also discusses her meeting Revord (The Official Big Bang Theory Podcast).
What did Courtney Henggeler do after the sitcom?
Henggeler later played Amanda LaRusso in Cobra Kai, a role noted in The Independent’s report on her 2025 career announcement. That work brought her to a different audience beyond viewers who remembered Missy from the sitcom (The Independent).

Did Courtney Henggeler leave acting?
In April 2025, Henggeler announced that she was stepping away from acting after more than 20 years in the business. That describes her announced decision at that time; it does not establish what she may choose to do in the future. The report does not make it appropriate to claim that she has permanently ruled out acting or to speculate about her private plans.
