The first Cobra Kai Season 6 trailer, released by Netflix on July 1, 2024, set up a move from Valley dojo rivalry to the Sekai Taikai, which Netflix describes as the world championships of karate. It also left a question hanging over Daniel and Mr. Miyagi’s past. The trailer promoted the season’s first five episodes, then scheduled for July 18, 2024; all 15 episodes are now available.
When did the first Season 6 trailer come out?
Netflix published the official Part 1 trailer on July 1, 2024. Its announcement said the first five episodes would arrive July 18, 2024. Those dates describe the original rollout, not the current availability of the season. Netflix Tudum’s trailer announcement and Netflix’s official trailer listing establish the timing.
What are the global stakes?
The trailer’s central escalation is the possibility of competing in the Sekai Taikai. Netflix’s synopsis says that, with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, the senseis and students must decide “if and how they will compete” in the world championships of karate. The question is not merely whether a familiar local rival will return: Miyagi-Do must decide how to approach a championship beyond the Valley and whether its students can act as a team.
Sony’s official series page likewise frames the season around Miyagi-Do’s effort to become world champions and the risk that internal rivalries resurface. That supports the shift in scale and pressure, but neither synopsis lays out the tournament’s full rules or guarantees what the team’s path will be.

What did the trailer reveal about Mr. Miyagi?
The official trailer announcement and synopsis do not specify exactly what the footage reveals about Mr. Miyagi’s past. They establish a mystery to watch for, not a complete explanation. To distinguish a trailer clue from later story information, rely on what is visibly shown or said in the July 2024 footage; do not treat a later-season answer as something the first trailer disclosed.
Is Season 6 the final season, and is it complete?
Yes. Season 6 is the series’ final season, and it is now complete. Netflix’s current season guide says all three parts, totaling 15 episodes, are available. Netflix’s Finale Event launched February 13, 2025. That later release context is separate from the first trailer’s July 2024 promotion of Part 1.
