Court TV has not shut down. If it disappeared from your Spectrum guide, the most likely explanation is a local lineup, package, broadcast-subchannel, or guide issue—not proof of a nationwide Court TV cancellation. Spectrum does not use one universal channel map, so availability must be checked for your service address and plan.
The modern Court TV is also different from the original cable network that became truTV in 2008. Court TV was relaunched in 2019 and remains active today.
Is Court TV still on the air?
Yes. Court TV continues to operate as a legal-news and trial-coverage network. Its official website publishes current programming, live trial coverage, videos, and online livestreams. Court TV’s current About Us page says the network is distributed through cable, satellite, over-the-air broadcasting, online services, and streaming platforms.

There was an ownership change in 2026: Scripps announced the sale of Court TV to Law&Crime on February 9, 2026. That transaction did not mean the network was discontinued. The key distinction is simple: Court TV disappearing from one Spectrum lineup is not the same as Court TV disappearing from television.

Why can’t I find Court TV on Spectrum?
No authoritative source reviewed establishes a single nationwide Spectrum removal date or a confirmed national Court TV–Spectrum carriage dispute. Court TV’s availability can differ by location and subscription, so several explanations are possible.
1. Spectrum lineups vary by market
Spectrum channel numbers and network selections can differ by city, state, regional system, and service address. Customers in legacy Charter, Time Warner Cable, or Bright House territories may also encounter different lineups. HD and standard-definition listings can differ as well.
Spectrum’s official TV information directs customers to check the lineup associated with their location and plan. Do not rely on a channel number found in a national article or posted by a viewer in another city.

2. Your package may have changed
A missing listing may mean Court TV is not included in your current package rather than being absent from Spectrum everywhere. This can happen after a plan change, the end of a promotional package, a migration from a legacy plan, or differences between Spectrum products and streaming options.
3. Court TV may have been delivered through a local broadcast station
Court TV is also distributed through local television stations and digital subchannels. If you previously watched it through a local station feed, that station could have changed, replaced, or removed the subchannel. Spectrum may also have remapped or altered the local station’s position in its guide.

This is why seeing a different network in the old slot does not by itself prove that Court TV was nationally renamed or canceled.
4. The guide or equipment may be out of date
If Court TV appears in account or channel searches but not in the live guide, the problem may be temporary. An incorrect service address, an account sign-in issue, a stale guide, or a receiver or app that needs refreshing can all produce confusing results.
5. A carriage change is possible—but not confirmed nationally
Carriage agreements can affect individual providers or markets. However, the evidence available here does not confirm a nationwide Court TV–Spectrum dispute, its dates, or its terms. Treat claims that Spectrum officially dropped Court TV nationwide as unverified unless they are supported by a direct Spectrum announcement, a documented provider notice, a regulator, or reliable trade reporting.
Did Court TV become truTV?
Only partly—and the distinction matters.
- Original Court TV: The Turner-owned cable network used the Court TV name before being rebranded as truTV in 2008.
- 2019 relaunch: Katz Networks, part of Scripps, brought back a new Court TV network focused on live trials and legal analysis. Scripps described it as a new network rather than a continuous cable channel that had simply remained unchanged.
- 2026 ownership change: Scripps agreed to sell Court TV to Law&Crime, while the network continued its legal-news and courtroom coverage.
The history explains why older articles and channel memories can conflict. Today’s Court TV is not simply the original Court TV under a different name, and its modern availability should not be inferred from the 2008 truTV rebrand.
Likewise, there is not enough authoritative evidence to say that current Court TV became True Crime Network. A particular local station may carry a different true-crime service, but that would be a local distribution change—not proof of a universal national transition.

How to check Court TV on your Spectrum account
- Open Spectrum’s official TV lineup or TV-app information.
- Enter your service address or select your actual market.
- Confirm the exact Spectrum TV package on your account.
- Search the guide for Court TV and, where relevant, Court TV HD.
- Check whether a local broadcast station’s digital subchannel carries the network.
- Search both the live guide and on-demand area. A program search is not always proof that the live channel is included.
- If the channel recently disappeared, sign out and back in to the app, refresh the guide, or restart the receiver.
When contacting Spectrum, ask a precise question: “Is Court TV carried at my service address, and if so, what channel and package include it?” You can also ask whether the channel was moved, whether a local station feed changed, or whether the issue is a temporary guide or equipment problem.
If support representatives provide conflicting answers, record the date, service address or market, package name, channel number previously used, and each explanation. That information helps distinguish a local lineup decision from an account-specific problem.
How to watch Court TV without Spectrum

The official Court TV live page provides online viewing, and the network also maintains pages for live and archived trial streams. This is often the most direct alternative if you want a particular courtroom stream rather than a full cable replacement.
Online availability can change by program and rights. Do not assume that every television broadcast, trial, or archive item will always be available online.
Over-the-air television
Court TV’s distribution model includes local broadcast stations and digital subchannels. An antenna may provide the network without a monthly television subscription if a qualifying local station broadcasts it in your area.

Check local broadcast listings and reception information before buying an antenna. Results depend on geography, distance from the transmitter, terrain, building materials, antenna placement, and local station arrangements. An antenna cannot receive Court TV if there is no local broadcast feed available to your address.
Streaming services
Court TV’s current official information lists distribution partners and supported platforms including YouTube TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and SiriusXM. The network has also announced availability through other services at different times. Platform lineups change, so verify that Court TV is included in the current plan before subscribing.
A 2021 Court TV distribution notice listed services such as YouTube TV, Pluto TV, FreeCast, Xumo, Select TV, KlowdTV, NKT.tv, Redbox, and Local Now. That list is historical and should not be treated as a guaranteed 2026 lineup.
Peacock
Scripps announced in August 2025 that Court TV and Court TV Legendary Trials would join Peacock’s 24/7 channel offering. Check Peacock’s current service information to confirm whether the relevant channel is still available and which subscription plan includes it. The announcement confirms the launch, but it does not establish that every current Peacock tier provides access.

A replacement in the old channel position can result from local station changes, a digital-subchannel change, Spectrum remapping, a revised carriage arrangement, or an old saved favorite pointing to a different listing.

Do not conclude from the replacement alone that Court TV was renamed, became another true-crime network, or shut down nationwide. First check the current lineup for your address, then determine whether you were receiving a national cable feed or a local broadcast subchannel.
Will Court TV return to Spectrum?
That depends on Spectrum’s market-specific lineup and any relevant distribution or carriage arrangements. The sources reviewed do not provide a confirmed national return date or a universal Spectrum plan for Court TV, so a return should not be predicted.
The practical answer is to verify your local lineup rather than wait for a nationwide announcement. If Court TV is absent from your package and market, use CourtTV.com, check local over-the-air availability, or confirm a current streaming provider’s lineup.

- The original Court TV became truTV in 2008.
- A new Court TV launched in 2019.
- Court TV changed ownership in 2026 but continued operating.

It does not establish that Spectrum discontinued Court TV nationwide in 2020, that Court TV became True Crime Network everywhere, or that a specific national carriage dispute caused every customer to lose the channel.
