Ramble On reached the pilot and trailer stage, but the latest located reporting says it failed to sell to a distributor. It has no confirmed release date or television home. Charlie Sheen’s separately announced return to television is in AMC’s Happy Jack, not Ramble On.
What was Ramble On?
Ramble On was developed as a scripted Hollywood dramedy about established figures trying to reinvent themselves and performers seeking to build their careers. Charlie Sheen, Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon were set to play versions of themselves. The project was created by Doug Ellin, known as the creator of Entourage. TheWrap reported in March 2022 that a pilot had wrapped and producers were speaking with potential buyers.
By the time a trailer surfaced in December 2024, the premise had been described more specifically: Connolly and Dillon play podcast producers who approach Sheen to host a show. That is the fictional setup in the series, not evidence that Sheen launched a real podcast. TVLine reported that the trailer was released and the project was being shopped to networks and streamers.
The cast announced in 2022 also included Martin Sheen, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Mark Cuban, Kimiko Glenn, Bre-Z, Ana Ortiz and Emmanuelle Chriqui, among others.

What happened to the pilot?
The project did not become a scheduled series on the basis of the reporting available. In September 2026, Variety reported that the pilot ultimately failed to sell to a distributor. That describes an unplaced pilot; it is not the same as a formal cancellation announcement. No confirmed Ramble On release date or viewing platform has been announced in the cited coverage.
How Ramble On differs from Happy Jack
Sheen’s more recent television return is a separate project. On September 29, 2026, AMC Global Media announced that Happy Jack, starring Charlie and Martin Sheen, had been greenlit for AMC and AMC+. AMC said the six-episode first season was planned to begin production in Los Angeles in early 2027, with a 2027 premiere. Those are announced plans, not evidence that Happy Jack is a revival or renamed version of Ramble On.
