What BedRyder was
BedRyder was marketed as a removable seating system that added passenger seats to a pickup truck bed. The seats could be taken out so the bed could return to cargo use. Historical product descriptions mention seat belts and cup holders, but they do not establish independent testing or regulatory approval.
The product’s appearance on television is not evidence that a particular installation is safe or legal for road use. The available sources do not establish whether BedRyder was legal on public roads in any given jurisdiction, or whether any surviving unit holds current safety certification.

The Shark Tank Blog’s recap reports that Conway asked for $200,000 in exchange for 15% equity and left without a deal. The recap says Sharks raised concerns about potential liability, the cash required to scale production, and uncertainty about ownership. It describes Conway as the salesperson and says the inventor held a majority interest; these are the blog’s account of the pitch, not independently audited company records. What happened to BedRyder after the show?
The Shark Tank Blog reports that BedRyder continued after its television appearance but went out of business in 2019. A current episode and company tracker also labels the business “Out of Business.” These are secondary-source status reports: the sources do not provide a company announcement or closure filing, and they do not establish a specific reason the business closed. The Shark Tank Blog’s update and the current episode listing report its status.
