What they said about marriage
In a 2005 interview with People, Bledel spoke hypothetically about marriage. She said that couples who had dated for more than a couple of years probably talked about it, adding that it was “a fun thing for us to talk about,” but “down the road.” Her comment does not establish that they were engaged or planning a wedding.

In July 2006, Ventimiglia confirmed to TV Guide that he and Bledel were “no longer an item.” Asked for more details, he replied, “And that’s about all you’ll get out of me.” ELLE also reported that his representative later told People that he was single.

Their professional reunion on Gilmore Girls
Bledel and Ventimiglia returned to their roles for the 2016 revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Official production notes included Jess among Rory’s former boyfriends appearing in the revival. Ventimiglia later praised Bledel’s acting and expressed happiness about her Emmy recognition, but neither the revival nor those remarks shows that their relationship resumed.
