Aaron Spelling’s often-quoted $600 million net worth is a media estimate, not a publicly verified probate total. Reports say his widow, Candy Spelling, received the bulk of his estate, while his children Tori and Randy each inherited about $800,000. The available figures do not provide a complete accounting of where every dollar went.
Was Aaron Spelling really worth $600 million?
There is no publicly established, audited figure for Spelling’s wealth at the time of his death in 2006. Published estimates vary: the Los Angeles Times described his fortune as more than $300 million in the mid-1990s; UPI reported an estate estimate of $500 million in 2006; and The Washington Post used an estimated $600 million in its 2014 discussion of the inheritance.
Those figures are estimates reported at different times, not interchangeable measurements of the estate. They support the broad conclusion that Spelling was worth several hundred million dollars, but they do not establish his precise net worth on his death date or the amount ultimately distributed after debts, taxes, trusts, and other obligations.
Who inherited the estate?
Reports after Spelling’s death said his widow, Candy Spelling, received the bulk of the estate. Tori and Randy Spelling were each reported to have received approximately $800,000. The Independent also reported an estate of around $500 million and inheritances of $800,000 for each child.

These reported inheritances do not amount to a full probate ledger. The cited accounts do not trace every asset or show how taxes, debts, trusts, royalties, or other estate arrangements affected the final distribution.
Why did Tori Spelling reportedly receive about $800,000?
Candy Spelling attributed the limited inheritance to concerns about Tori’s spending. In The Washington Post’s account of Candy’s 2014 New York Times interview, Candy said: “She would close a store and drop $50,000 to $60,000. I never did anything like that. She just went crazy.” That is Candy’s explanation, not an independently verified finding about the estate’s legal or financial arrangements.

What happened to The Manor?
The Spelling family’s Holmby Hills mansion, known as The Manor or Spelling Manor, was reported to measure roughly 56,000 to 57,000 square feet. Candy marketed and sold the property after Aaron’s death; the Los Angeles Times reported a sale in 2011.
Petra Ecclestone later sold Spelling Manor in 2019 for a reported $119.75 million, according to a Sotheby’s Homes press document. That completed sale price is distinct from asking prices the property may have carried at other points; neither figure, on its own, reveals the mansion’s net contribution to the estate.
