A clip from Coldplay’s July 16, 2025, concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, showed Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s chief people officer, Kristin Cabot, on a venue screen. Astronomer placed Byron on leave and opened a formal board investigation two days later. On July 19, the company announced that Byron had resigned and that the board had accepted his resignation.
What happened at the concert
Coldplay performed at Gillette Stadium on July 16, 2025. Footage from the concert showed Byron and Cabot on a venue screen, and the clip circulated widely online. The Associated Press identified the two people and reported the concert location. Associated Press report

The footage establishes who appeared on screen and where the clip was recorded. It does not, on its own, establish the nature of anyone’s private relationship or prove claims about a marriage.
How Astronomer responded
July 18: leave and a board investigation
On July 18, Astronomer said Byron had been placed on leave and that its board had initiated a formal investigation. The company’s response made the matter a workplace-leadership issue, rather than simply a viral-video story. Associated Press report

July 19: Byron resigns
The next day, Astronomer announced that Byron had tendered his resignation and that the board had accepted it. In its statement, the company said: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.” Associated Press report quoting Astronomer’s statement
What was reported about the leadership transition
At the time of the resignation, Axios reported that Astronomer co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy was serving as interim CEO and that the board planned to search for a new CEO. That describes the transition reported in July 2025; it does not establish who leads Astronomer now. Axios report

What is known about Kristin Cabot’s status
ABC News Australia later reported that Cabot had also resigned. The reporting available here does not include a primary Astronomer statement confirming that detail, so her resignation should be attributed to that report rather than presented as a company-confirmed announcement. Claims the video does not verify
- The clip does not prove what Byron and Cabot’s private relationship was.
- Social-media posts circulated as apologies from Byron or Cabot were characterized as fake by ABC News Australia; they should not be treated as authentic statements from either person. ABC News Australia report
- Exact versions of an onstage remark attributed to Chris Martin circulated in coverage, but an authoritative transcript was not established in the reporting reviewed. No precise wording can be reliably quoted here. Associated Press report
What this timeline does—and does not—say about Astronomer today
The documented sequence is a July 2025 account: the concert clip circulated, Astronomer put Byron on leave and began an investigation, and Byron resigned. The contemporaneous interim-CEO report and later account of Cabot’s status do not establish Astronomer’s October 2026 leadership or either former executive’s present employment. No reliable named statistic, such as a verified view count with a stable measurement date, is established by the cited reporting.
