Reporting connected the home to gatherings involving some Dallas players in the early-to-mid-1990s. A 1996 Los Angeles Times report gave its address as 115 Dorsett Drive and said several players rented it for six months ending in spring 1995. Later accounts, including Netflix’s 2025 documentary coverage, brought the story back into the lore of the team’s dynasty, while leaving some of its most sensational claims as allegations and recollections rather than established fact.
What was the Cowboys’ “White House”?
It was a two-story beige-brick home in Irving associated with Cowboys players and their gatherings. The nickname referred to the private house; it was not the U.S. presidential residence, a team facility, or—despite the title’s shorthand—a mansion. Netflix Tudum places it near the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch practice facility, while the Los Angeles Times identified it as 115 Dorsett Drive.
The available accounts describe a house linked to a particular period of the team’s off-field life, not a formally documented Cowboys venue. The sources do not establish a complete guest list or provide an independent record of everything that happened there.
Where was it, and when was it used?
The home stood in Irving, Texas, near Valley Ranch. In a report published May 17, 1996, the Los Angeles Times said several Cowboys rented it for six months, with the rental ending in spring 1995. That contemporaneous report supplies the address and rental window; later coverage places the house within the broader early-to-mid-1990s period.

A 2026 Fort Worth Star-Telegram account of Michael Irvin’s recollection says the house was eventually shut down in 1996. That date comes from Irvin’s later account as reported by the newspaper, rather than from a property or official record included in the available coverage.
Who was connected to the house?
Nate Newton and the idea
A retrospective Sports Illustrated account credits Cowboys lineman Nate Newton with the idea for the house. This is a later account of how the arrangement began, not a claim established by the contemporary newspaper report.

Paco Montoya and the day-to-day story
Sports Illustrated describes Paco Montoya as the house’s caretaker and recounts his retrospective statements about stocking it and the activity there. Those details are Montoya’s recollections as relayed by the magazine, not independently verified descriptions of every gathering.
Michael Irvin and the documentary revisit
Netflix Tudum says Irvin was the only player interviewed for America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys who discussed the house. He described it in the documentary as “a safe place for camaraderie,” and joked, “Dude, I was the president of the White House.” Those remarks show how Irvin framed the place; they are not a neutral or exhaustive account of its use.

The series’ co-director, Maclain Way, called it “a party house that follows the ’90s Cowboys mythic lore.” That description captures the house’s place in the team’s public mythology, rather than proving every story attached to it.
What was reportedly happening inside?
Accounts consistently associate the house with player gatherings and partying, but they differ in source and evidentiary weight. The Los Angeles Times reported that neighbors described players and women visiting; neighbors named Alvin Harper as a player they recognized. The report also relayed claims about drugs and sex parties through a paid informant. Those were allegations reported at the time, not proven findings, and the reporting does not establish that every event occurred as described.

The later Sports Illustrated account adds Montoya’s recollections about how the house was stocked and used. Netflix’s coverage supplies Irvin’s description and Way’s characterization. These are attributed retrospective statements, and should be read as such rather than as a single independently verified account of the house’s activity.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why did the “White House” become part of Cowboys lore?
The story joined a recognizable address and a short rental period to the larger reputation of the 1990s Cowboys as a team whose off-field culture drew as much attention as its success. The nickname itself made the house memorable, while accounts from neighbors, players, a caretaker, and documentary filmmakers gave it different meanings: a place for gatherings, a source of controversy, and a symbol of the era’s excesses.

Its return in Netflix’s 2025 series also demonstrates the limits of the public record. According to Tudum, Irvin was the sole player interviewed for the series who spoke about the house. The resulting story is therefore a mixture of contemporary neighborhood reporting and later, attributed recollections—not a complete, independently corroborated history of every person or event associated with 115 Dorsett Drive.
