The football Bad Bunny held near the end of the Super Bowl LX halftime show said “Together, We Are America.” That was different from the billboard behind him, which read, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
What was written on the football?
The inscription was “Together, We Are America.” The Sporting News reported the wording after the February 8, 2026, show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The Sporting News
How was it different from the billboard?
The billboard carried a separate message: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” The football and billboard appeared in the show’s closing sequence, but they did not say the same thing. The Associated Press and CBS News reported the billboard wording.
What did the football’s message mean in context?
The inscription itself is directly reported; its meaning is interpretation. In the closing sequence, Bad Bunny named countries across North, South and Central America as flags appeared, then said, “Mi Patria Puerto Rico, seguimos aquí”—translated by AP as “My homeland Puerto Rico, we are still here.” Read alongside that sequence, “America” can be understood as encompassing the wider Americas, not only the United States. The cited coverage does not establish a more specific official explanation from Bad Bunny for the football’s wording. AP’s report on the show’s closing

How did the rest of the show support that reading?
AP described a 13-minute performance that brought Puerto Rican imagery to the field while invoking a wider Pan-American theme. Its reported details included a sugarcane field, jíbaros wearing pavas, a coconut stand, dominoes and a piragua cart with syrup bottles displaying different Latin American flags. These are elements of the production’s visual language, not proof of a single official meaning for the football. AP’s breakdown of the show’s symbols
Before the performance, Bad Bunny told the NFL he wanted to bring “a lot of my culture” to the stage and said he was trying to connect with his roots, his people and himself. Those comments offer cultural context, but they are not a direct explanation of the inscription. NFL interview coverage
