Dexter’s 2022 tribute to Diane Keaton’s Hollywood honor
After Diane Keaton took part in a handprint and footprint ceremony at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre on August 11, 2022, Dexter posted a caption celebrating the occasion. ABC News reported the tribute the following day and quoted Dexter writing: “What an amazing day honoring my momma! I am so proud of you and this is an incredible honor. I love you ❤️.” ABC News also reported that Dexter’s husband, Jordan White, and her brother, Duke, attended the ceremony.

Dexter’s 2023 caption about their time together
In June 2023, Dexter shared a tribute recalling the outings she enjoyed with her mother. Us Weekly reported that Dexter wrote: “My mom and I have always loved going on adventures together. From strolls on the beach to walking around a new neighborhood,” then continued, “I love spending time with my mom. We always have an amazing time together. I love my mom.” Us Weekly presented these words as a social-media caption, not an interview.
What the two tributes show
Together, the captions offer two specific glimpses of Dexter’s affection: pride in her mother’s public recognition and pleasure in their ordinary shared adventures. They do not establish the full scope of their relationship or everything Dexter may have said about her mother.

Family context
ABC News reported that Diane adopted Dexter when she was 50 and later adopted Duke in 2001. ABC News covered the family context alongside the 2022 ceremony.
On October 11, 2025, Us Weekly reported that Keaton had died at age 79 and was survived by Dexter and Duke. Us Weekly did not report a posthumous public statement from Dexter in the coverage cited here; the two captions above predate Keaton’s death.
