There is no single Big Ten Network (BTN) channel number on Spectrum nationwide. The number depends on your local lineup and may also vary by plan and whether you’re looking for the standard-definition or HD listing. For the number at your address, enter your ZIP code in BTN’s official channel finder, select Spectrum, or check Spectrum’s local channel lineup.
Find BTN on Spectrum in three ways
1. Use BTN’s channel finder
- Open the BTN channel finder.
- Enter your ZIP code.
- Select Spectrum as your TV provider and submit the search.
- Check the channel number and any package information shown for your area.
This is the quickest starting point, but confirm the result against your Spectrum account or lineup if you need to know whether your particular plan includes the channel.
2. Check Spectrum’s lineup for your address
Open Spectrum’s channel-lineup page and enter your service address or ZIP code if prompted. Choose your plan, then search for BTN or Big Ten Network. Look for both the regular and HD entries; their numbers may differ.

3. Search your on-screen guide
On a Spectrum receiver, press Guide and search for “BTN” or “Big Ten Network.” If it is available on your service, the guide should show its channel number and current program. Interface names and search steps can vary by receiver. If your guide supports favorites, you can save the channel after finding it.

Why the Spectrum BTN channel number varies
Spectrum publishes lineups by service area, not as one national channel list. Your local market—and sometimes the specific address—determines the lineup. Package placement can vary too. A standard-definition listing and an HD listing may appear as separate channels, and a business or older regional lineup may not match a current residential lineup. Spectrum says its channel guide shows what is available in the customer’s area; check the official lineup rather than relying on a number listed for another city.

These examples illustrate why a number from another market may not work. They come from published local lineups, including Spectrum Business or legacy regional material, and are not a guarantee of current residential service at any address.

Numbers such as 61, 70, 412, or 488 can be correct in a particular lineup and still be wrong for your home. Use the address-specific lookup before tuning in.

Do not assume that BTN is included in every Spectrum package or at the same tier in every market. Check the plan and channel availability displayed for your address in Spectrum’s local lineup or account. A regional Spectrum notice, for example, said BTN would move to TV Select, TV Select Signature, and TV Select Signature Plus in specified communities in Southern California, Oregon, and Washington beginning July 22, 2024. That notice applied to those listed areas and does not establish the current package placement elsewhere.
Also, do not assume the Sports View add-on includes BTN: Spectrum’s sports-package page describes its channels, but the available research does not establish BTN as part of Sports View in every market. Verify BTN in your address-specific lineup before changing plans or adding a package. Spectrum’s TV plan information can help you review service options, but only the local lineup can confirm BTN availability for your address.
Can you watch BTN in the Spectrum TV App?
Spectrum says its TV App provides access to channels included with a customer’s TV service. If BTN is in your local lineup and plan, check the app’s live-TV guide after signing in. The app is not a separate way to get BTN without qualifying Spectrum TV service, and channel access can depend on the plan, local lineup, device, and applicable viewing restrictions. If BTN is missing from your guide
- Recheck the location. Make sure the finder or Spectrum lineup uses your home’s service address or correct ZIP code, not a nearby city’s.
- Search both names. Try “BTN” and “Big Ten Network” in the lineup or on-screen guide.
- Confirm you have TV service. Internet-only service does not provide a Spectrum cable channel lineup.
- Check your package. BTN may not be included in your current plan in your market. Confirm the local package listing before upgrading or adding a sports option.
- Refresh the equipment. Restart or refresh your receiver, then check the guide again. If the app and receiver show different lineups, confirm that you are signed in to the right account and check Spectrum’s service notices.
- Contact Spectrum if it should be included. If your address-specific lineup shows BTN in your plan but you still cannot access it, ask Spectrum to check the account and receiver.
Channel listings can change, and old search results or market-specific PDFs may not reflect current residential service. Use the official local tools for the most reliable answer.

BTN—the Big Ten Network—carries live Big Ten sports and related programming. But not every Big Ten game airs on BTN; a particular event may be carried by another network or streaming service. Check the event’s listing as well as your channel lineup if you are looking for a specific game.
