Candace Cameron Bure has not been shown in the reviewed reporting to say how she felt specifically about being replaced as Aurora Teagarden, and there is no verified figure showing that leaving the franchise cost her a fortune. What is documented is that she left Hallmark as her contract was nearing expiration, later explained her creative priorities, and Hallmark continued the series with Skyler Samuels playing a younger Aurora.
What happened to the Aurora Teagarden movies?
Bure starred in 18 Aurora Teagarden movies from 2015 through 2022, according to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. After her move from Hallmark, the network announced Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New in March 2023. The film is a prequel, with Skyler Samuels playing Aurora as a younger woman; Hallmark described it as the franchise’s 19th installment, as reported by TVLine.
That is a change in lead performer, but it is not evidence of Bure’s private or personal reaction to the decision. The reporting reviewed here does not document a direct statement from her about being replaced in the role.
What has Bure said about leaving Hallmark?
Bure’s public comments concern her departure and career priorities, rather than the later recasting. In a November 2022 interview with The Wall Street Journal, as reported by TVLine, she said: “My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them.” She also described Hallmark as having changed after a leadership change: “It basically is a completely different network than when I started because of the change of leadership.”

When she announced her move to Great American Media in April 2022, Bure said she was excited to develop “heartwarming family and faith-filled programming.” Hallmark’s parent-company representative said Crown Media respected her decision and thanked her for her contributions.
In later reporting about her 2022 comments, Bure said her Hallmark contract was expiring and that renewal discussions with Hallmark did not work out before she began talks with Great American Media. That account helps explain the timing of her move; it does not establish what she thought about the Aurora recast.

Did leaving Aurora Teagarden cost her a fortune?
There is no verified public figure in the reviewed reporting for Bure’s Aurora salary, contract value, residuals, or any financial loss caused by leaving the role. The fact that she stopped appearing in the movies does not, by itself, show whether her move to another company increased or decreased her earnings. Claims that the recasting cost her a fortune—or a specific dollar amount—are therefore not established.
