Bill Maher addressed Charlie Kirk’s assassination on the September 12, 2025, Real Time with Bill Maher segment titled “Charlie Kirk.” The show’s official channel says Ben Shapiro and Tim Alberta joined Maher for the discussion. Contemporary reporting says Maher condemned people who mocked or justified Kirk’s death; the available sources support that broad summary, not a verified word-for-word account.
What did Bill Maher say about Charlie Kirk’s death?
Contemporary RealClearPolitics coverage reports that Maher condemned people who mocked or justified Kirk’s death. A secondary transcript listing indicates the conversation also touched on death threats and political violence, but it is not a primary, verified transcript. The sources establish the general thrust of Maher’s response rather than a complete account of what he or the panelists said.
That distinction matters: this is a summary of the reported discussion, not a claim that the episode endorsed every argument made by a guest. It also should not be combined with Maher’s comments about Kirk made in other broadcasts.
