The three picks for the weekend of Dec. 27–28, 2025, were Goodbye June, Eden and K-Pop Demon Hunters. They were selected from Netflix’s U.S. Top 10 snapshot at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 27—not from today’s chart. Choose among them by mood: a family holiday drama, a historical survival thriller or an animated musical fantasy.
The three Netflix movies picked for that weekend
Tom’s Guide’s recommendations combined chart placement with each film’s premise, cast and appeal; a Top 10 position signals popularity in that snapshot, not a guarantee of quality. The titles below are ordered by the chart positions reported in the article, rather than by a claim that one is best.

K-Pop Demon Hunters (No. 5)
This animated musical fantasy follows three K-pop stars who secretly protect the world from demons and face the Saja Boys. The lead voice cast includes Arden Cho, May Hong and Ji-young Yoo. It suits viewers after energetic animation and music-led fantasy.
Eden (No. 8)
Ron Howard’s historical survival thriller follows European settlers who move to Floreana Island in Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands before World War II. Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Daniel Brühl and Sydney Sweeney star. New York Times critic Glenn Kenney, in a review excerpt reproduced by Tom’s Guide, wrote: “There are erotic shenanigans galore, and as the tension mounts, harrowing acts of violence.” That description points to a darker, more adult choice than the other two.

Goodbye June (No. 9)
Kate Winslet directs and stars in this holiday dramedy about a family coping with a relative’s serious health decline over Christmas. The ensemble includes Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, Stephen Merchant and Helen Mirren. The screenplay was written by Winslet’s son, Joe Anders. This is the family-centered option, though its subject matter is emotionally weighty.
How the titles compare
| Film | Genre and premise | Best fit by viewing mood |
|---|---|---|
| K-Pop Demon Hunters | Animated musical fantasy; K-pop stars secretly fight demons | Music, action and fantasy |
| Eden | Historical survival thriller; settlers on a Galápagos island before World War II | Tense, darker historical drama |
| Goodbye June | Holiday family dramedy centered on serious illness | Family drama with an emotional edge |

Why the chart is historical, not a current recommendation list
Netflix’s Top 10 varies by country and changes over time. The company says the home-screen lists update daily and, when available, reflect titles popular in the viewer’s country; its online Top 10 lists update weekly. A U.S. ranking from Dec. 27, 2025, therefore cannot establish what is popular—or available—in another country or on Oct. 4, 2026. Check your own Netflix interface for current availability and rankings. Netflix Help Center: Top 10 lists aren’t showing.
For context, Netflix’s Dec. 23, 2025 weekly recap is available at Netflix Tudum’s Top 10 for the week of December 15, 2025. The three weekend recommendations and the dated U.S. chart come from Tom’s Guide’s Dec. 27, 2025 article.
