There is no established scientific species name for the fish in the available official film information. It is therefore more accurate to call them piranha-like fish than to name a particular species.
Are they the same creatures Manny fights?
Not necessarily. Scrat’s encounter involves the small fish commonly called piranhas by fans. Manny’s underwater encounter involves larger aquatic creatures; a separate viewer question about those creatures does not establish that they are the same animals or verify their classification as fish.
