Spoilers for the first season of It: Welcome to Derry: the character is Marge Truman. The finale reveals that her future son is Richie Tozier, a member of the Losers’ Club. Pennywise targets Marge because Richie will be involved in the creature’s eventual death.
Who is Marge in Welcome to Derry?
Marge Truman is one of the teenagers in the first season, initially seen among the circle around Lilly Bainbridge. She is not presented at first as an obvious bridge to the Losers’ Club. The finale makes that connection explicit: Marge is Richie Tozier’s future mother.
Why does Pennywise target Marge?
The finale’s synopsis says Pennywise separates Marge from the others because he knows her son Richie will play a role in his future death. The reveal links the prequel’s 1962 story to the later Losers’ Club story through family and the creature’s knowledge of what is to come.
How does Marge connect the series to the other It adaptations?
Matilda Lawler plays teenage Marge in Welcome to Derry. The character listing identifies Janet Porter as an older Marge in It Chapter Two. That casting connection helps make the character link visible across the series and film, but the specific mother-and-son reveal described in the finale belongs to the prequel’s story.
