This curated watchlist follows the impression across debate, town hall, interview, and campaign cold-open formats; “best” is a matter of taste, not an official ranking.
Start with Rudolph’s early Harris impression
Rudolph’s first turn as Harris came in 2019. A CBS News report identifies that as the start of the impression, while TheWrap’s retrospective discusses a 2019 joke aimed at Harris’s record as a prosecutor. This is the place to begin if you want to see how the character was introduced. The specific clip title and current archive availability are not established here, so look for the 2019 Democratic debate material in the SNL archive rather than relying on an unverified title.
Compare the 2020 debate and town hall sketches
Two October 2020 cold opens put Rudolph’s Harris in different campaign settings. CBS identifies both sketches and their dates, making them useful companion watches rather than a ranking of which is funnier.
- “VP Fly Debate” cold open (October 10, 2020): A debate-format appearance and a good next stop after the 2019 material. CBS’s coverage identifies the sketch and date.
- “Dueling Town Halls” cold open (October 17, 2020): A town hall campaign setting that offers a contrast with the debate sketch. CBS also identifies this title and date.
The cited reporting establishes these as examples, but does not provide official clip pages for them.

Watch two 2024 cold opens
“Fox News Kamala Harris Interview Cold Open” — October 19, 2024
The official SNL YouTube clip places Rudolph’s Harris in an interview format, with Alec Baldwin as Bret Baier. It is a direct way to see the impression’s 2024 return in a recognizable campaign-media setting.
“2024 Pre-Election Cold Open” — November 2, 2024
In this official SNL YouTube clip, Rudolph plays Harris opposite James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump. The sketch’s distinctive premise is that the real Harris appears alongside Rudolph as her “mirror-image double.” The Associated Press reported that Harris told Rudolph, “And I’m just here to remind you, you got this.” Read the AP account for context on the surprise appearance.

Choose what to watch by format and era
If you want a quick route through the impression, use these distinctions: the 2019 material shows its beginning; the 2020 pair covers debate and town hall settings; the 2024 clips move to a television interview and a pre-election cold open. Only the November 2 sketch features Harris herself alongside Rudolph. These are useful ways to choose a starting point without treating subjective comedy preferences as a definitive ranking.
