No. Ser Arlan’s exaggerated anatomy in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was a prosthetic worn by actor Danny Webb. Prosthetics designer Waldo Mason confirmed the crew made a 10-inch prop and used tubing to create the urination effect.
How the scene was made
The moment opens episode 2, “Hard Salt Beef.” Ser Arlan of Pennytree, played by Danny Webb, leaves a brothel naked and urinates in a flashback involving his former squire, Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall, played by Peter Claffey.
Mason, the show’s prosthetics designer, publicly confirmed that the production made a 10-inch prosthetic penis for Webb. He described reinforced contact edges and wig lace, with a knotted merkin used to conceal the seams. Tubing taped down the back of Webb’s leg created the urination effect. That production account identifies the effect as a practical prosthetic, not CGI.
Why the scene drew attention
The prop’s exaggerated size made the brief scene an instant talking point, with viewers debating whether it could be real. Showrunner Ira Parker initially joked to Entertainment Weekly, “Was that a prosthetic? I forget.” That quip was not a definitive answer; Mason’s later explanation settled the question.
#1 Best Overall
Parker said he felt sympathy for Ser Arlan: the knight had looked out for Dunk, but died on a muddy road, was buried without ceremony and was scarcely remembered by the knights and lords he served. Parker described the gag as giving Arlan “his one special thing” and cited Mark Wahlberg’s memorable moment in Boogie Nights as a tonal inspiration.

The scene’s blunt humor suits a story focused on a hedge knight’s life on the road rather than the grand battles and court politics associated with other Westerosi stories. SYFY quotes Claffey describing the series as following a hedge knight “from the dirt of the road”—a perspective that leaves room for earthy encounters with ordinary people.
Rank #2
The moment is therefore both a practical-effects reveal and a character joke: the production gave an overlooked knight an absurdly memorable detail, in keeping with the series’ lower-stakes, comic tone.
