What changed for MLS viewing in 2026?
MLS Season Pass ended as a separate subscription after the 2025 season. Starting with the 2026 season, Apple moved MLS matches and related programming into its Apple TV streaming subscription. That removes the separate MLS add-on, but it does not remove the cost of Apple TV itself. Apple and MLS describe the matches as included at no additional charge for Apple TV subscribers. Apple Support explains the Season Pass transition, and MLS confirmed the new access model.
In short: MLS is included with Apple TV; it is not a free standalone MLS stream.
U.S. price and trial
Apple lists Apple TV in the United States at $12.99 per month and offers a seven-day free trial to new subscribers. Check the offer and eligibility shown at checkout, since subscription terms can change. If you start a trial and do not want a paid subscription, check its renewal date in your Apple Account and cancel before billing begins. What does Apple TV include for MLS?
Apple says subscribers can watch every MLS match, including regular-season games, the MLS All-Star Game, Leagues Cup, Campeones Cup, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs and MLS Cup. The offering also includes MLS studio programming and on-demand content. This is access to the listed MLS competitions, not a promise of access to every soccer league or tournament. Apple advertises MLS matches without blackouts in its offering; availability and distribution can vary by country or region. Apple’s MLS viewing information describes the included programming.
How to watch MLS on Apple TV
Apple TV is the streaming service, not just the Apple TV hardware box. You can watch in the Apple TV app or at tv.apple.com on supported devices. Apple lists iPhone and iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD, Apple Vision Pro, supported smart TVs from brands including Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO and TCL, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox. Check support for your specific older television model and regional app store before relying on it.

- Open the Apple TV app on a supported device, or visit tv.apple.com.
- Sign in with your Apple Account and choose the Apple TV subscription, or start the trial if it is offered and you are eligible.
- Find the MLS section or search for the match you want to watch.
- Check your subscription settings for the trial end date if you do not intend to continue into a paid month.
Who may already have access without a new charge?
Some viewers may qualify through an existing subscription, a ticket-account benefit or a provider arrangement. These routes have different terms; none means every fan can watch MLS without paying for some qualifying service or benefit.

Apple described the device, ticket and provider arrangements in its 2026 season announcement. For commercial venues, confirm licensing and pricing directly with the provider; the announcement does not give current rates.

What former MLS Season Pass subscribers should do
The standalone Season Pass ended after the 2025 season, so an old Season Pass entitlement should not be treated as a continuing 2026 subscription. Apple says customers who also had Apple TV or Apple One were no longer billed separately for Season Pass after the 2025 season, with its auto-renewal turned off. That transition language does not mean every former Season Pass subscriber received a free Apple TV subscription.
Check your Apple Account’s active subscriptions and purchase history to confirm whether you currently have Apple TV access. If an old Season Pass charge appears after cancellation, review the account and contact Apple Support. If MLS does not appear, first confirm the correct Apple Account is signed in and the subscription is active.

When did the 2026 season begin?
The 31st MLS season opened on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The opening round, branded “MLS is Back” weekend, ran February 21–22; all 30 clubs took part, with 15 openers scheduled and 13 played on Saturday. Inter Miami CF and LAFC, featuring Lionel Messi and Son Heung-min, headlined opening day. The first Sunday Night Soccer match was the LA Galaxy against New York City FC. The date has passed: MLS resumed regular-season play after the 2026 FIFA World Cup break, as Apple noted in July. See the MLS schedule announcement for the season calendar.

Apple says Apple TV is available in more than 100 countries and regions, but subscription prices, languages and partner arrangements are not identical everywhere. Apple’s no-blackout claim should be read as a statement about MLS availability through its service in the applicable markets—not as a claim that local broadcasts, radio or other distribution arrangements do not exist. For example, the 2026 schedule announcement notes selected Canadian distribution through TSN and RDS.

Apple and MLS identify English and Spanish coverage, but viewers should check the listing for their country and match rather than assume every language feed is available in every market. Apple also announced Xfinity integration, DIRECTV access and EverPass commercial distribution; those arrangements do not automatically make a consumer subscription free.

If access does not work
- No MLS section or match: Check that the Apple TV app is supported and up to date, that you are signed in to the right Apple Account, and that an Apple TV subscription or another valid benefit is active.
- Ticket benefit missing: Check club messages or the redemption instructions tied to your full-season ticket account, then contact the club’s ticket office. Confirm eligibility before buying a second subscription.
- Unexpected trial charge: Review the trial end date and subscription status in your Apple Account. Contact Apple if a charge appears inconsistent with the account record.
- Buffering or poor picture: Check the device, app updates and internet connection. Buffering is a connection or device issue, not evidence of a blackout.
- Showing a match at a business: Verify commercial exhibition rights with a provider such as DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS or EverPass rather than relying on a consumer subscription.
