Yes—but only for the 2024 Perth Royal Show. The Western Australian Government announced free entry for children aged 15 and under, with up to four free child tickets for each paid adult ticket. It was a year-specific offer, not a standing rule: admission terms changed in 2025 and 2026, and the 2026 Show has ended.
What the 2024 announcement offered
On 31 July 2024, the Cook Government announced that children aged 15 and under could enter the 2024 Show free. The arrangement allowed up to four free child tickets for each paid adult ticket. Adult and concession tickets were half price, with $5.2 million in government funding intended to help reduce ticket costs. WA Government announcement, 31 July 2024
The age rule and ticket allowance matter: the announcement did not say that children could attend without a ticket being issued, or that any number of children could enter free regardless of adult tickets.
How the offer changed in later years
| Show year | Child age rule | Adult-ticket condition | Other ticket details |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | Free for children aged 15 and under | Up to four free child tickets per paid adult ticket | Adult and concession tickets were half price, according to the Cook Government announcement. Source |
| 2025 | Half-price admission for children under 16 when accompanying a paying adult; children under four entered free | Paying adult required for the half-price offer | The Government announced a $2.8 million package for the Show and related agricultural-show support; that full package should not be read as the child discount alone. Source |
| 2026 | Children aged three and under were free; child tickets covered ages 4–15 | The published ticket conditions required children 12 and under to be accompanied by an adult | Free children still needed a ticket for the gate. The Show ran from 26 September to 3 October 2026 and has concluded. Government dates and policy; ticket listing |
What to know about 2026 references
The 2026 ticket listing described family configurations as two adults plus two children, or one adult plus four children. These details belong to that year’s listing; they do not establish the rules for a future Show. Megatix 2026 listing

The Government also reported 70,000 discounted presale tickets and said a family of four could attend for less than $80 using those presale tickets. That was a dated presale statement, not a general current-price guarantee. The same announcement described $3.95 million in support for affordable tickets, food and attractions. WA Government announcement, 12 August 2026
In 2026, the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia also advertised a free Yellow Brick Road activity for 10,000 families while allocations lasted. That was an activity inside the event, not free admission to the Show. RASWA activity page
