Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash return as Soldier Boy and Stormfront. The series is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in 2027; Amazon has not announced an exact date.
What is Vought Rising about?
Amazon describes the series as a murder mystery set during the 1950s, centered on Vought’s origins, Soldier Boy’s early exploits, and the maneuvers of Stormfront. That is the announced premise; further plot details have not been confirmed. Amazon’s series overview calls it a prequel to The Boys.

The show belongs to the television franchise based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic. Sony identifies that comic as the source of The Boys, but the announcement does not say that Vought Rising adapts a particular comic storyline. Sony Pictures’ franchise page provides that broader context.
When does Vought Rising come out?
The announced premiere window is 2027. Amazon has not provided a specific day or month, so 2027 should be treated as a planned release year, not a confirmed premiere date. The Associated Press also reported the 2027 window. AP’s announcement coverage corroborates the year.
